Najib Razak / Umno & Barisan Nasional

Malaysia/Israel, Endless Possibilities

We wonder how much money was spent by the consultants in Prime Minister’s inner circle for coming up with this new slogan that will ‘complement’ the previous 1Malaysia slogan.

Think of all the tax payers’ money spent to pay for those consultants in order to produce those two words.

And read the sites below as to where they had copied it from.

From Israel’s Ministry of Tourism

Please give the world something original. If you can’t even sort out a proper slogan and had to copy from other countries, then your implementation and grandiose ideas are doubtful to begin with. Any sane people will sack their advisors. But knowing this PM, he may promote them instead. Or give medals of honour. Even the phrase – Endless Possibilities doesn’t give out positive connotations.

What are the possibilities Barisan Nasional to lose the next general election? Endless!

But of course soon we will definitely hear the sorry excuses like – we thought about it earlier than the Israelis, or, it was just pure coincidence, both Prime Ministers of Israel and Malaysia have the same kind of thought patterns etc.

Sometimes, we just cannot rely on advisors who have time and time again proven to be liabilities to the government.

Just a small tip: please google the phrase first before giving it to the PM for him to announce; this might avoid any embarrassment.

TOURISM MINISTRY LAUNCHES DEDICATED WEBSITE PROMOTING ISRAEL AS A DESTINATION FOR CONFERENCE AND INCENTIVE MARKET

Category: Economy

Written by Israel Tourism Ministry

Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevi: “Israel is very well suited to the conference and incentive market – it is a modern, vibrant country with Jerusalem at its center and its advantages include a good year-round climate for events, its relatively small size that allows for easy, fast access from everywhere and its varied geography.”

The Ministry of Tourism promotes international conventions in Israel and is working to establish Israel as a major player in the incentive market. To this end, the ministry has recently launched a dedicated website promoting Israel as a unique destination for international conferences and incentive travel, under the slogan  “Israel. One place. Endless Possibilities”.

The site, which is available in English and Russian, is aimed at the decision-makers and tourism specialists working in the conference and incentive market, in particular in Russia, UK, Germany, Italy and Holland. The website launch is being supported by a NIS 200,000 campaign in print and digital media.

In order to promote convention and incentive tourism, the ministry participates in trade fairs, organizes seminars and hosts orientation visits in Israel for tourism specialists and decision-makers in which they are introduced to the many options available for pre- and post-conference touring and activities for participants and their partners.

Research shows that employees who receive an experiential prize from their employees remember it better and for longer than a financial reward. Based on experience and research, the experiential incentive makes the recipient feel more loyal to his/her workplace and better appreciate his/her employer who not only invested money but also time and effort in arranging the experience. Employees who receive a special incentive return with greater motivation to the workplace and positively influence their colleagues who also want to share the experience.

Included within the website are videos, images, and detailed, user-friendly information that show how Israel can accommodate conferences from 50 – 10,000 participants in hotels and universities with state-of-the-art convention facilities, and a wide and varied range of incentive options underlying the message of one country with endless possibilities. These are divided into four main categories:
body and soul: holistic spa treatments, meditation, kabala etc
sports: every type of water, land and air sports at different challenge levels through to extreme, including swimming with the dolphins in the Red Sea, bird-watching, cycling, jeep rides and more
food and wines: boutique wineries, olive oil and cheese farms, open-air food markets and more
leisure and history: cultural and entertainment options, archeological sites, lavish nighttime productions in the desert, museums and more

The site also includes contact details of relevant Israeli service providers who specialize in conference and incentive travel, as well as the Israel Government Tourist Offices around the world.

  1. Aiyah! If you had participated leepublic of singapore merdeka several years ago, it was also ‘one singapore’. You see, both the politicians that administer these two countries got retarded due to extreme heat and humidity. Archaeologists have discovered that these two conditions will result in shrinkage physically.but now we have the Proof that it affects mental ability as well as the the skull shrink.

The latest advisor appointed by Najib, i.e. Shahrizat, must be the topping of the cake. She cannot make a living in the real world is it?could be blackmail. That could be the reason why ktm and was given away so easily.

The malays people hor, must understand that UMNO no longer fight for malay dignity. They have bribed and corrupted the malays with NEP so much they can get away with anything.

    • tempawan,

You are a Singaporean promoting Singapore and Lee Kuan Yew, are you? And insulting the Malays and UMNO, seditious with your anti-NEP remarks like the DAP aping the PAP when Singapore was in Malaysia 1963-65.

Let me now try to drum into your head the following:

      1. You should be blogging in Singapore blogs as well – it’s OK to be critical of LKY and the Singapore government as the new Permanent Residents from mainland China have also started criticizing and demanding all sorts of rights from the government and LKY etc been grumbling against these buggers who they said hardly had any right when in China. No need to be afraid of the Iron Hand rule, “Big Bother on the Wall” etc, you can still say and do anything you like, including in your bedroom in Singapore.

      2. You said, “Archaeologists have discovered .. shrinkage .. that it affects mental ability as well as the skull shrink.” The clearest example of that is you – not mentioning which archaeologists, when, where etc, and the kind of statements you made above sure show your skull has been shrunk.

      3. Saying, “UMNO no longer fight for malay dignity” when obviously you are not a Malay and can’t be expected to know even what dignity is, sure shows another proof of your shrunken skull. Read the history of China, man, and you’ll find many Professors have laughed out at the Chinese calling themselves “the Middle Kingdom”, they the only ones civilized, others outside it were babarians. Professor Wang Gung Wu, previously of Universiti Malaya and now in Singapore, had written in his essay many years ago that the Chinese found that as a huge fallacy when they came into contact with others outside their own realm. And sure you have read about “the Little Kingdom”, “the Little Emperor” in the “Red Dot” that former Indonesian President Habibie referred to Singapore as.

      4. And for Malaysian Chinese, you think the Chinese tsunami reflects Chinese dignity? Not even knowing such a thing as gratitude? Is DAP that they ran to ever a party of dignity? Calling itself “Democratic Action Party” yet manipulated the vote counting at their CEC election, blaming it on a “computer glitch”? Deliberately left out some 750 members from attending their party convention and CEC election – said by no less than the former DAP Vice Chairman, Tengku Aziz. Complained to the RoS by members (who have been unhappy about the dictatorial tendencies of the Lim Dynasty), the RoS declared the Dec 2012 CEC not recognized and the DAP got told by the RoS to hold another CEC election. That’s dignity for you?

Having explained the above, I think calling you stupid is quite in order. Ooops, the words are “shrunken skull”, innit?

This fler tempawan must be suffering from the depression of the overseas chinese syndrome. They were descendants of unwanted stateless peoples who were illiterate, poorest of the poor, no high social status to boast of, not from a lineage of scholars, emperors, elites.

In short, the lowest ranking groups of people who were willing to abandon motherland for gold and silver. Today they are deemed as traitors and still rejected by PRC. Their identity crisis is monumental.

        • I was attracted to one comment some where saying these people in south China have been protesting and fighting authority all the time in history. They are not the original Chinese like those in north China who came southwards for greener pastures and for available land in the hundreds even thousands of years in China’s history. The southern Chinese were descended from local tribes like the Tai and the Miao, and a variety of hill tribes – hence the nasty ones in this country have been called “Cina Bukit”.

So they fought the northern Chinese, then the Mongols who invaded, conquered and ruled China for about 80 years, then the Manchus of Manchuria (foreigners until after World War II) who conquered and ruled China for several hundred years, then the Europeans including the British, who handed back Hong Kong to China only in 1990.

So, in this country, the DAP kind has been fighting established authority since their ancestors came to Penang in the 18th century. The secret societies, thugs and gangsters never accept authority. 150 years of being Stateless, the Malays agreed to them getting citizenship at Merdeka, never say thank you, don’t honour the Social Contract. Yes, they are not wanted in China. Also in this country. So I think we keep on shooing them off especially when they don’t respect the laws the highest of set of which is the Constitution.

Nobody insulting anyone here. I think NEP that is being implemented have failed to uplift the fate of our paddy and rubber farmers.
In europe, US and japan, they take very good care of their farmers and they earn decent income. But food sold in the market is cheap so that every citizen benefits. That is the type of subsidy we want.
Subsidising petrol and diesel only make oil companies rich as they can anyhow suka sula make outrageous claims as they dictate market price. They probably charge the gahmen high although they bought low.whatever it is, money trickles only to the smugglers who then deposit their ill gotten gains in singapore, tax free.
Can somebody please try and stop our paddy farmers from selling off their land. This is a food security issue. Surely some highly paid NEP con-sultant can do something about this.

  2. “What are the possibilities Barisan Nasional to lose the next general election? Endless!” I agree fully.

Now is the time UMNO members must all think hard of the future of the Malays that UMNO swore to protect and promote when the party was formed about 60 years ago. Should BN loses, the Opposition ultra kiasus will show their fangs to the fullest, exploit each and everything they could find, and, as the Sedition Act would long have been discarded by Najib at that time, they’ll do as they please to be seditious, and, if they get a 2/3 Parliamentary majority (God forbid), start amending the the sensitive aspects of the Constitution, never mind whether the amendments will receive royal assent or not, such assent will be deliberated by the YDP Agong and the Rulers in Council, surely.

DAP would surely be wanting to get rid of Ketuanan Melayu as reflected in the provisions of the Constitution pertaining to the roles, functions and responsibilities of the YDP Agong, the Malay Rulers, the Rulers Council etc. They would want the appointment of the PM be signed by Karpal Singh, or, if he is dead at that time, by Lim Kit Siang. Remember, they tried to amend the Constitution of the state of Selangor. Even when they did not have 2/3 majority, they did it to show their arrogance and what-the-devil-may-care and no-matter-what stand.

They have been raising such issues even when they are a minority in Parliament, never mind the fact that they had caused the race riots of 13 May 1969. Also, they’d want to question the Special Position of the Malays, which was extended to cover the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak upon the formation of Malaysia, and the affirmative action/ NEP that was drawn or inspired form that. Heck, even the star has started to debate the affirmative action in their Latte Chat, perhaps prodded on by those who had joined the Chinese tsunami. UMNO should tell them not to debate it, otherwise the 1 million citizenship given out at Merdeka (that Tun Dr Mahathir has spoken about) should also be debated by Utusan.

Especially when Najib, the current UMNO President, has even sidelined the NEP, gave away scholarships to Chinese when UTAR rejected a RM30 million donation by a Chinese engineer millionaire for scholarships etc. And Najib is being plainly ridiculous to expect the Malays, who have not had a culture of doing business, to compete on a non-level playing field with the Chinese, who have had a culture of doing business, taking risks, making profits etc for thousands of years, and who have been the richest community in this country for many decades.

The Malays who are not members of UMNO, and those who are members but do not have the voting right in the coming party elections, must keep talking about Najib not fighting for and not promoting the interest of the Malays, continue persuading the UMNO members, especially those with the votes at the party elections, to replace Najib with a leader who is fully Malay in character and at heart.

It is no wonder with your backward thinking you are not making any headway into the world of the Chinese-controlled businesses or you have given up due to the sheer difficulty of making it through without bribes or you have swallowed all your government largess?

DAP has continually highlight poor governance cases (also brought to light by the government auditors) and corruption but never were such cases properly accounted for and dealt with. Has any government party or you yourself questioned such things? All you moan about is DAP this….DAP that… Chinese this… Chinese that… What have you done to improve the government accountability and transparency in Malaysia, rather than bad mouthing the DAP or opposition.

I suppose you must be one of those people who wish to be spoonfed all the time rather than trying to stand on your own two feet. I wish you were born an intelligent Chinese in Malaysia, of poor parentage and a non Muslim…then perhaps your eyes will opened wider and your brain waves stronger…. maybe the next life… but Malaysia could be better then…Adios..

Saying adios means you are making a hit-and-run? Makes one comment and disappears? Like the DAP so-called Red Beans? Kamon la, stay and face the music. Sure there’ll be a lot of whacking and wanking on damn narrow minded, selfish and ultra kiasu blokes like you, not respecting the Constitution, not wanting to learn the history of this country, and not wanting History be made compulsory in schools. Now that History has become compulsory, your children and garndchilden will know that you are pendatang and must respect and abide by the Constitution of the country if you don’t want to get repeatedly shooed out.

Of course you would not want to read, but for the benefit of other readers who may want to whack you, I give below two books that tell about the Malays:

        1. The Malay Civilization
        2. Tamadun Alam Melayu

both published by the Historical Society of Malaysia, available at Wisma Sejarah, opposite IJN, Jalan Tun A Razak, KL.

They explain the scores of research and academic studies scientifically carried out by Linguists, Anthropologists, Archaeologists, Medical Scientists including DNA experts, done since the 18th Century, continued into the 19th Century, heightened in the 2nd half of the 20th Century, both international as well as local, especially in the last 50 years or so.

The studies show the Malays originated from this Gugusan Pulau Pulau Melayu or the Malay Archipelago, since over 6,000 years ago. Shit to the theory that was current for 2-3 decades from the 1930s claiming he Malays originated from Yunan or Taiwan.

The Malays have good ship building and navigational skills, have been travelling in and out of the Malay Archipelago, including the Borneo island and the Malay Peninsula, and beyond to Madagascar, Taiwan, even Hawai. The Malay kingdom of Langkasuka on the northern part of the Malay Peninsula had been a vibrant civilization since the 2nd Century AD. The Rumpun Melayu or Large Family of Malays comprise a total of some 350 million, spread over one third of the globe.

You are so damn stupid for thinking in such a narrow fashion, ignorant of history of even your own origins and your original country, mainland China. I’ll search one cut and paste about it after this.

        • Chris,

Here is the c&p that I have mentioned earlier – there’s more where that came from and if you want to read more, say so here:

The Myth of the Chinese Cultural Pre-eminence

Ancient Chinese records aggrandized Chinese culture while at the same time denying the achievements of other cultures and races. But Chinese historical documents had often been re-written, making it difficult to ascertain the truths.

The burning of the books occurred not just over 2,000 years ago during Emperor Chin Shih Huang Di, but also in the 1960s during the so-called Cultural Revolution of Mao Zedong.

Chinese history claimed China as the “Middle Kingdom”, others around them, and even far away, as “barbaric and uncivilized”.

Those thinking theirs is a higher culture and others have a lower one must read what History Professor Wang Gung-Wu (formerly of Universiti Malaya, now in Singapore) said in his essay “Early Ming Relations with S.E.Asia” pg. 36:

“ … All peoples who believed that they alone were civilized did so because they thought their neighbours less civilized than themselves. This view was often proved wrong by subsequent contact with other civilized peoples.”

Another Professor, Albert Kolb, also pointed out in his book, “East Asia”, 1971,

“For a long time, it (Chinese culture) was taken to be older, and possibly also richer in original features, than in fact it is”. (Pg 25).

“Chinese culture cannot be thought of as originally Chinese because the Chinese themselves emerged gradually as a blend of many races and peoples”. (Pg 26).

According to Professor Wolfram Eberhard, in his book “A History of China”, 1977, writings about ancient China were inventions of a later period, what were said to have been done by the Chinese rulers and the dates they were said to have been done appeared to be even later still. All these indicated that historical writings in China were meant to serve certain politico-ethical objectives.

These are the words Professor Eberhard himself wrote:

“Furthermore, we can now state with certainty that the historical data which were given in written documents for times down to 1,000 BC are false. They are the result of astronomical-astrological calculations, made by specialists of later times who pursued their own special political aims by doing these calculations”. (Pg 1).

      • A final point in my comments this time – you buggers in DAP cakap tak serupa bikin all the time. You are corrupt, DAP Perak Nga and Ngeh did the tailorgate corruption even just after 49 days into power in 2008, then walloped 10,000 acres of Kelantan land bribed by Nik Aziz to agree to Nizar becoming the Menteri Besar Sekejap.

Then the commissions, kickbacks, profit shares and nominee shares DAP leaders took from the State land sale at Bayan Mutiara and Taman Manggis, the RM1 billion turn key project sPICE, then the price-keep-changing undersea tunnel. You buggers also play money politics – DAP Selangor Ronnie Liu complained publicly about it at a DAP Selangor Convention a few years ago, was told off and lost his post to ever loyal to the Lim Dynasty Teresak Kok.

And do know that you Chinese had been given the affirmative action by the Manchu Emperors, foreigners who ruled your ancestors for several hundred years until the 20th Century? How stupid of you to talk about your kind being intelligent, not spoon fed,and controlling businesses that Malays cannot gt into. Are you trying to bribe me by praising my intelligence? Isn’t it very clear that you DAP fellows cakap tak serupa bikin? You need to respond to the comments on DAP bribery and corruption cases. Other than saying no court cases therefore no bribery. That’d be a very stupid thing to say. DAP has secret societies, thugs and gangsters making sure no spilling of the beans. The MACC investigation on DAP Selangor Exco Ean Yong had to stop because the DAP bloke last with Teoh Beng Hock alive pushed him out of the window and to his death. To stop spilling the bean or be a witness against Ean Yong.

And one PKR ADUN plus one independent MP said publicly that one DAP Selangor Exco met “the Underworld” in the Selangor State government premises. And DAP Exco Ronnie Liu behaved like a gangster banging MACC doors and the Klang Hospital mortuary door on the death of TBH. Himself a gangster, too?

Your utterly ignorant comment on where the Malays in this country come from has been rebutted. Your origin in south China – the hill tribes etc – has also been commented on.

I’ll talk about so-called DAP accountability and transparency in such things as the DAP CEC election after this in response to your mentioning those big words that the DAP again cakap tak serupa bikin.

        • Chris,

Here’s a comment on your origins in south China:

“You people keep making fun of the Malays, mamaks, etc, what about you Chinese? What’s the equivalent to call you all also having mixed blood? Now, now, don’t say you people are pure Chinese.

Here is what Professor C.P. Fitzgerald says in his book, “A Short Cultural History of China” (600+ pages) – he lived in China for 5 years to research and gather material for that book:

The phrase “origin of the Chinese people” is in itself misleading.

          1. Chinese culture took root in the plains of Manchuria, a foreign country until after World War II

          2. The northern provinces have always to some degree been mixed with “peoples from the Mongolian steppes”

          3. The southern and central provinces of China were, before the northerners moved southwards, “covered” by non-Chinese, the Miao, small in size and who the Chinese were contemptuous of.

          4. The south was occupied by “aboriginal tribes which once occupied the whole of south China”. The ancestors of most of the migrants to Malaya/ sia came from the south. The Professor said, “A large proportion of the population of the south calling itself ‘Chinese’ is in fact descended from one or other of the aboriginal races” – page 6. “The southern people were then treated (by the northerners) as barbarous” – pg 32. Even in modern times, in Yunnan and Kueichou, tribesmen number half the population.

The southerners comprise the following major groups:

          a. Fukienese (Hokkien), “a separate stock, mixed with immigrants from the north and the Yangtze Valley” and speaking “a peculiar dialect”.

          b. Cantonese, also speak a somewhat alien language, a form of old Chinese – the south was colonized by the northerners, colonization completed in the 7th Century – some 800 years after China was formed as a political entity by Chin Shih Huang Di.

          c. Hakkas, of Kuantung province, known as “guest families” – they speak a peculiar dialect, despised by the Cantonese and do not inter marry. These people were said to have come from the north, running away from frequent Mongol invasions that culminated in the conquest of China by Genghis Khan in the 13th Century.

So, if any of you are referred to as descendants of the Miao (who are aborigines and non-Chinese), or other aborigines of south China, don’t blame me, I’m just a messenger of the news. You can’t also blame Professor Fitzgerald any more because he died some years ago.

Another Professor, Albert Kolb, also pointed out in his book, “East Asia”, 1971,

“Chinese culture cannot be thought of as originally Chinese because the Chinese themselves emerged gradually as a blend of many races and peoples”. (Pg 26).

You are one of those DAP cowboys, easy on the draw, shooting from the hip, aren’t you? Often making wild, unsubstantiated and unjustified allegations.

Do you know what is the purpose of the Government having an Audit Department which audits government accounts and publish a report annually? It’s precisely for the purpose of knowing the weaknesses, where and how to remedy them. It’s never for stupid DAP to exploit and try to throw shit on the government administration. The Government itself are the ones remedying the weaknesses – without any prompting by DAP that has been know all these years as cakap tak serupa bikin blokes. Time permitting, I’ll shit DAP Penang administration and produce the Auditor General comments complete with cogent reasoning.

And do you know each and every remedial action taken by the Government based on the Audit Report? The changes to administrative procedures, purchasing procedures etc, the Memos and Circulars issued by the Ministry of Finance, the disciplinary action taken on Officers found guilty of financial mismanagement or neglect? Those “administrative actions” that don’t get press releases on or reported in the mass media. Yet you said “never were such cases properly accounted for and dealt with”? 3. For a country that discriminates (positively and negatively) and have ruled with an iron fist with bias towards the majority, having a slogan “endless possibilities” just seemed so strange and disjointed and surreal. And the two word phrase gives an impression of negativity and certainly to people familiar with Malaysia and its politics. But for the tourists and the “tidak apa” “not involved” visitors….well that seemed like a good catch phrase. Only thing is that we should be more original but having said that, nowadays could be hard to be original when the world is full of marketeers/slogan makers whose strength seemed to be coining words together and selling them to naive buyers.

The whole peninsular once owned and belonged to the Malays. The Chinese immigrants came and outnumbered the Malays in Singapore. Singapore then felt into the Chinese hands. The Malays too were outnumbered by the Chinese in Penang and now the island controlled by the Chinese. Selangor is fastly followed suit as more and more places in Selangor being urbanized and prices of the property in the area skyrocketed at dizzying pace. The Malays can’t afford it so the beating a retreat inwards and live in the peripherals. As the day goes by, more and more Malays being driven out deeper into interior and settled in the areas where they could afford. Slowly and surely the Malays again being outnumbered in most cities and control of the state falls into someone else hand. Then it would spill over to neighboring states. Same thing happen as the process of urbanization is colour blind and knows no boundaries. The Malays again are forced to retreat and resettled somewhere else in droves. New cities mushrooming everywhere but those places are not owned by the majority, In the end, the Malays have to live in the jungle wearing just a loincloth.
      That is discrimination for you.

      • I don’t think the Malays will allow the situation to go to that extent. Remember the Malay word amok has even been taken into the English language – it’s in the Oxford English dictionary.

It started from the Malays whacking the first British Resident to Perak, JWW Birch, dead by the banks of the Perak River in the 19th century. He brought his jongos pinning up notices wanting to start taxing the local Malays.

They did it again on 13 May 1969.

And remember also that the word amok was used quite frequently in the court of the Malacca Malay Sultanate in the 15th-16th century. The Bendahara (Prime Minster), the Temenggong (Chief of the Army) etc often used it to prevent others from being nasty. Read the History of Malacca published by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka and you’ll find those.

Before PRU13, when Anwar Al Juburi (pangkat Mat Sabu beri) spoke for having relations with Israel and even defended the security of Israel, instead of the displaced, miserable and suffering Palestinians, PAS said they did not want to have anything to do with Israel. Now, I haven’t read much of what PAS says or thinks.

But t’s damn frustrating if the Najib government – their consultants or whatever – now encourage or even allow others promoting the visit Israel propaganda.

Clearly Zionist Israel has been against the Muslims. They won the 1967 war and have been occupying the Palestinian territories ever since. They built and moved Jews into so many houses in the occupied West Bank and in Jerusalem that the Palestinians have long said they want to have their capital there. What else is it if not unscrupulous and scheming manipulation to retain a lot of the occupied territories that belong to the Palestinians. Not enough of having carved out an entire state calling it Israel, with access both to the Mediterranean as well as the Persian Gulf.

How can Najib allow or change the age old policy line of UMNO, a party comprising Malays and Muslims, people who are against the Zionist Jews. Yes, I support the call for Najib to be replaced by UMNO party voters.

  9. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I hardly commented, but today is my first time log into JMD. Allow me to write something, I may not be intelligent enough to join this league, nor I am the member of any political alliance, party or cyber trooper, just a layman expressing his view.

    I love below quote,
A widely quoted Bedouin saying is “I against my brother, my brothers and I against my cousins, then my cousins and I against strangers”

This is what happen to all of us nowadays, reason is simple. Malaysia is too makmur, makmur until we are so free to debate racial issue, religion,, and criticize one another on political view, and parties.
    ,
Most notable is because we do not have common enemy to fight with, therefore we fight each other. Basically human only have to kind, irregardless of race, status, political view, and gender.

There is only 2 type, first “Those we have it”, and 2nd ” Those who does not have it”, and those who do not have it will try make the one who have it, lost it. Those who has it will try to keep it.
You name it, wealth, powers, money, influences, benefits, subsidies, 5% discount, 10% discount, privileges, beauty, and friends.

Example, A opposition politician will try to become Minister. He wanted to have the power and authority, so that he can use his power to influence others to accept his thinking. He will try very hard to have it. In the other hand, the ruling minister will try to keep what he has, by any means, to maintain what he has.

A thief try to steal from the rich, to get some wealth which he does not posses, and the rich will build a fort to guard their wealth.

Don’t tell me an ugly girl do not have intention to disfigure a beauty living next door.

Think deeply, and you will find yourself belongs to either one of them.

    Good day.

    • Good for you to join in commenting, Professor. Hope to see more of you here.

But I beg to disagree with you. The reason is not Malaysia is too makmur. It’s people taking the citizenship right but not accepting the history of this country, not respecting the Constitution of this country, not honouring the Social Contract, ungkit here, ungkit there, so gaduh la.

And Tun Dol started to be lax in governing this country, people started to be seditious etc. And Najib threw away important laws that make bad elements free to shoot one another on the streets and now he wants to throw away the Sedition Act.

Wanna write more but got to go now. Will say this last bit: I wanna be rich but not by the thief way. Or the gangster way – they say in Penang got gangsters becoming millionaires, doing property development etc. Penang boleh.

      • Thank you morning glory, Let share some of my background.
I was born and breed in a almost 99.0% Malay community area, a small town in Southern Kedah. Yes, I’m a Chinese, a the Pak Haji in Pasar Malam will have a great shock when he raise his head and discover the person who want to buy his petai is indeed a Chinese, and uttered ” laaa, ingat melayu tadi”. Basically my parents doing business which we interact everyday with Malay, hence our Malay language was mastered, even before we enter School. Even my Chinese BM teachers had to admit that sometimes I’m better than them. Some called me China Melayu, but I went to Chinese School.
I have in total 6 siblings grown up together in same environment, and we move out from our neighborhood mostly in KL, but keep in touch every minutes, using Whatsapp, and communicate in Bahasa.

Being living next door to a Malay coffee shop, our morning breakfast is basically, nasi lemak, be it bungkus or cedok. Kuih, you name it, I ‘ve ate it all, before I was introduced to Chinese won ton mee, laksa or kueh teow coup. My morning news paper was “Utusan Malaysia” since I was 8, there is also jawi newspaper which I do not understand. The malay languages comes to me naturally without any big effort, but the Chinese was so difficult, that until today I can be considered buta huruf if I was to move back to my grandparents land in Xiamen. ( Yes my grand father shack still around, next to 3 storeries new bangalow his relative builded, now that most Chinese is becoming so rich, that even my grand parent relatives can own a few factories, and drive a Mercedes,- Note: I mention my grand parents relative, because I do not know them and never wanted to know them, There is no sense of belonging between us and them, for me they can just FO).
Sent any Malay boys or girls to challenge me with teka-silang kata, I can beat them flat, you want to play big table “dam” with me, prepare to loose. You want to make gun from “bemban” I can teach you. How many of you ever berkubang inside Kubang Kerbau??

Being a Chinese grown up in Malay community, being perli ” balik China la”, ” hey, Mo Ze Dong”, or ” Ah pek aaa” is normal for me or my sibling, for me its a normal greeting or friendly comment, How it turn out to be so sensitive still puzzle me, well we can talk about this later.

During election, our store was rented and turn into BN camp, and a few doors nearby there was a PAS markas, I went in and out both camp almost as frequent as I want, without feeling any threat. After election these 2 groups of people will join and sit together watching ” gusti” in cofffe chop again, with – Kopi O setengah cawan, and maybe a piece of Madjun.

Being a kids, I do not feel the impact or knowing what is so called, social contract, and why and, when these words being used. I only come into this contact at form 3, when 6 of our Malays class mate was name was called and being told, ” kamu dapat bantuan biasiswa” amounted to RM30/months, well for young Hisham, I thin khe deserve it, because he is helping hi mother selling nasi lemak everday to earn some extra money, but for Barakhatur, Iza, Ros, and Farra who I visited them during hari raya in a nice garden house, and bungalow, what is the need for a meagre RM30, how about me, which the only area in house during heavy down pour which was dry is no bigger than 3’x3’.

After form 5, I scored a 1st grade, and yet no University place, compare to my Malay class mate who scored poorer results than me. Can you imagine what a innocent boy that time, puzzling inside his head and asking why???? Then come form 6, got 5 principals, yet no where to go ( pith my elder sister, form 5, 2nd top students out of several hundreds, end up as primary school teacher),
After 5 years, I met a Malay classmate who failed all subject except Pengajian Am ( yes i saw her result slip), show me her business card, graduated in Bachelor Science in Chemical Engineering, What the F***, she failed all her science subjects in STPM. Why is this happening and allowed to happen, do we sang a different version of Negaraku/???? This is when I start to realize to this social injustice in My own country.

Being the one who do not have it, I was so frustrated, and in the other hand those who has it will try at any cost to maintain what they have, and over the time, the numbers explodes, and now you have millions of people who try to maintain the status quo, and you have another million try to deny it.
Of course all politician ( being rate as the most not to be trusted by public, yet knows as YB, will try to exploits the situation to garner vote to keep their existence, for the sake of you, and me,,,use your butt to think please). I personally do not support BN now, not because I do not want the, I want them if they become opposition, then we will have different government every 5 or 10 years, each side will make improvement which will make this country prosper..Remember while we are quarrel how to split our cakes, our enemy, which is all our neighbor is enlarging their slice of cakes.
( Please refer to youtube, boiled frog syndrome)

I remember I wrote Anwar Ibrahim when he was Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Chua Jui Meng when he was a health minister, and Dr. Mahathir as well on the same issue, using the method I learned in the movie ” Shawshank Redemtion”- where you photostats all your letters and mali to them every week, the same letter. Both Anwar and Chua reject bulat bulat my letter, but not Dr. M, Dr. M Instruct his secretary to take action, and when the request being realized after a years, his Secretary even cc me a copy, this has help may people to get free medical supply for patients of chronic kidney disease.

To said that Dr. M is racist I totally disagree, but he may made some drastic mistake, but no doubt his contribution out weight his few error, being human. Do you think Anwar and Chua can lead a good government by the people for the people, yes maybe, but not too long, We people must use politician to serve our social right, not keep them to serve their existence right.

15 years ago, I bought a apartment, but why is that a chap driving a new Volvo is getting 10% discount, and I’m not. Can Jabatan Hasil Dalam Negeri provide a list of high income Bumi, and graduate them from special preference, Bumi YB, grade A civil servant, managers should be exemted from this criteria so that the wealth can be channel more effectively to the needy.
But of course they won’t, there are the one who have it, and will try at any cost to maintain what the have.

        There you go.

        • Professor Falsampah,

I’m copying this reply as a comment in JMD’s new post as well, as the new blog post is about the same subject as this one.

You deserve to be replied to not only because you wrote a long comment but also there are so many points you raised that need to be given the other side of the coin, and this discussion can be valid in the new blog post as well.

A few general counter comments first:

          1. If all that you said is true, they are a bit heart wrenching, though there are justifications for what has or has not happened for the Malays and the Chinese like you.

          2. You said, “After form 5, I scored a 1st grade, and yet no University place, compare to my Malay class mate who scored poorer results than me.” I’ll ask you, were University places given to Form 5 Ist graders during your time? What year was that? Why no mention of SPM or was it Cambridge School Certificate time?

          3. “Then come form 6, got 5 principals, yet no where to go”. Why no mention of SPM or was it Cambridge School Certificate time? No places in local universities for 5 principals? Did you pass the General Paper, the one that tested pupil’s general knowledge, about civics, about the Constitution, about the Social Contract (though not necessarily called by that name at that time)? Those who did not pass the General Paper would not have been given a place at the U. It’s like not passing BM, and now History as well, will not be given an SPM pass certificate. And couldn’t you get into Singapore universities? But maybe Spore U also have about the same criteria for student intake?

          4. If during your time the General Paper was no longer used as a Uni entrance criterion, can you tell me what was? Surely you know that it was not just due to skin colour? If you persist in implying is was skin colour, I may have to insist you provide some names and particulars that’ll enable me to check with the authorities to verify the correctness of what you said. I assume that if you speak the truth, you will not be afraid of providing the necessary particulars.

          5. Your English – especially in the latter part of your comment – is hardly that of a Form 5 First Grader and Form6 5 Principal holder.

All the above made me wonder if all you said are true. But I will discuss with you further, as what you said provides me with the opportunity to get the facts and arguments out to the reasonable non BN- supporting readers (I have written off the unreasonable – generally DAP ones, especially after the Chinese tsunami and I’ll explain in detail another time.

I would welcome others to also chip in in this discussion as these are the kind of reasons the tsunami Chinese use to explain their abandonment of MCA, Gerakan and BN at PRU13. But please do so in the new blog post as readers’ generally don’t go to past posts’ comments.

        • An amazing story. I have three kids growing up half malay half english. I sometimes wonder how they will fare. Some of you will respond by telling me to take them to England. And of those giving that advice, some will say it nicely and some not so nicely. But let me tell you all now, the problems Malaysia faces are faced by other countries. And if they don’t have the same problems, they have others that are equally disturbing. Of course you don’t care, but it should contribute to your thought process.

But on the issue of Nation Branding, this letter should form the foundations of any nation brand strategy for Malaysia and not a tagline.

  10. There are no manners and respect on the net… but then again, it’s the same in the real world… When you insult a certain race, it reflects negatively not only on yourself, but also your own race. It’s amazing how a posting on a slogan could turn into racial rants…

I find that JMD is one of the decent bloggers around. At least reading here doesn’t hurt the eyes. Some of the others, I wouldn’t even want my pet reading those colourful language.

No matter how much you guys insult, threaten or mock each other, it serves no purpose. Do you know what kind of perception that these kind of uncouth language have on the political party or race that these bloggers claim to supposedly represent & defend?

And to some of you UMNO supporters, the last time I checked, BN is still the government la… sans the Chinese… isn’t that what you want? First, out of the government, then out of the country, right?

Anyway, Endless Possibilities is too vague IMO. More suitable for corporate use, like Expanding Horizons, etc…, because it’s conceptual. For it to work, you will need a context. The next thing the reader would be wondering what those possibilities are, good ones & bad ones.

For example, One voice, One vision… or even Moving Forward would be better… which I find more relevant.

Malaysia Truly Asia & Malaysia Boleh… Those are good… But generally, I find that even the advertisement these days lack originality and finesse compared to last time.

Btw, have you read the insulting comments by Chris above – he is likely to be a DAP bloke.

      • We can of course share our opinions and views without insulting or threatening other races and religions la. The choice is always ours. Only the insecure will resort to insults and foul language. Yes, it applies to these DAP supporters as well.

Please don’t be so quick to label me as a DAP supporter just because my comments appear to be against the grain…

I had relatives working in hospitals during the infamous 1969 event… both Chinese & Malays were victims. Until today, each side still blames the other… Those who lived through that period are already in their golden years.

My conscience is clear. Does it matter if my vote went to the present government? I was merely echoing the popular sentiments these days. out of govt, out of the country… isn’t that the truth? What difference does it make even if there are some Chinese in govt via MCA or others?

The major component parties in BN are disintegrating. Look at MCA, MIC, Gerakan…

I’m not very partial to politics, so my views often do not follow the political line. I’m more concerned about the effects it has on society. It seems society likes to take the cue from politicians. Today it’s Chinese, then Indians, then Malays, then Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, nowadays even Bangladeshis are not spared!

I’m also very aware of how UMNO supporters feel. I’m also very aware of what the opposition did. Whether we like it or not, whatever happens in UMNO affects the whole nation. The voice of supporters also reflects on the party. UMNO leads the government. That’s the difference between UMNO and other political parties…

But I think I’m digressing from the post topic…

        • True, we can of course share our opinions and views without insulting or threatening others. My point is that those who initiate the use of insults and foul language are the insecure ones. The pendatangs have been insecure for ages. Read about their history in China, as has been commented above.

No, they don’t apply to these DAP supporters “as well”. Those who initiate using insults and seditious remarks are mostly DAP. Read Malaysiakini, Malaysia Today.com, Malaysia Chronicle etc, and you sure will get that impression. And my other point applies – we need to react as it is the only way to make them know what they do is unacceptable.

No, I have not labelled you as a DAP supporter. I have only asked if you belonged to the Chinese tsunami. Note that the Chinese tsunami refers to the whole lot of those who caused the bigger loss to BN than in 2008. They include the MCA and Gerakan members and supporters who abandoned those parties and BN.

I’m not sure your purpose in telling about having relatives working in hospitals during the 1969 event. Hope you have read the White Paper on the riots entitled, “13 May 1969: A Tragedy, National Operations Council, October 1969” which tells clearly the insecure pendatangs insulting in the most hideous and intolerable manner and cusing the riots. Just Google those words and you’ll get there. When you say both sides blame the other, it shows you need to read that White Paper. Even if you have read it, I recommend you to read it again.

It matters if there are some Chinese in govt via MCA or Gerakan. It shows they uphold the spirit of “kongsi kuasa” that Tun Dr Mahathir spoke about, that has been the formula for the success of this country in the last 56 years. Now the MCA is being stupid. More importantly, they are showing a childish merajuk stand. How can they get the sympathy of voters by taking such a stand, how can they help BN win big that way?

Where “society likes to take the cue from politicians”, that’s been the case the world over since time immemorial. But don’t you realize that often politicians take the cue from the rakyat? They often do, as they are supposed to be Wakil Rakyat. Ever read about the British MP Enoch Powell? A double Honours graduate from Oxford University, the youngest British General during World War II, should have been the Prime Minister had he not spoken for what his constituents wanted – anti immigration into Britain, which was against the national fervour at that time.

Good that you feel whatever happens in UMNO affects the whole nation. Sure, the voice of supporters also reflects on the party. That’s why supporters like me want to see Najib replaced by a leader who is strongly Malay in character and spirit. UMNO is a Malay party, for goodness sake, sworn to protect and promote Malay rights and interests. Allowed by the bloody British who brought in the pendatangs and didn’t send them back to China by the shiploads like the Americans did after completion of the Trans-America Railway line in the 19th century. And political parties have been based on race ever since. Even DAP – they are mostly Chinese, whatever hoodwinking they may be doing on that.

Don’t worry about digressing – you are not if you interpret the post topic in a broad sense. And responding to comments made is not digressing – it’s to “set the records straight”. Have a nice day.

        • My second comment disappeared upon pressing the Post Comment button just now. Maybe because of Google automatic sensor on my mention of the old Christian teaching about being slapped on one cheek turning the other cheek. Am re-writing the comment:

          Gig,

Here’s an example of a bloke initiating an insult – his is the first comment on BigDog.com’s latest post –

“On August 24, 2013 at 05:23 Malaysian said:

It is unfortunate for Malaysia and UMNO to be led by an alleged murderer … ”

Using the name Malaysian to blog shows he is not feeling secure – he knows he has been claiming to be a Malaysian but is not one in character and in spirit. He has been commenting there and elsewhere, always insulting in one way or another. His comments have been deleted there for consistently being insulting.

Do you think he should be just let be? Do know that he is always whacked there until after his comments are deleted. From the contents of his comments read over a period of time, he is a DAP bloke. (in case you think I’m insulting by using the word “bloke”, do check the dictionary where the definitions include “a ship’s captain.)

Christian teachings a long time ago include: When slapped on one cheek, give the other cheek. Nobody does that anymore.

These days, it would be worthwhile for us to preach: Don’t be insulting if you don’t want to get whacked.

This is especially so when Najib wants to discard the Sedition Act and the likes of those those blokes mentioned above have become emboldened even before that happens.

          • It’s really hard to reply as there are so many points raised by you… anyway… I’m only telling it as I see it… I don’t expect my views to be right.

If we were to talk about who started it first, it would be quite pointless to carry on. I’m just saying that the choice of words a person uses to refer to a certain community says a lot. If there are no such blogs then I would gladly take back my words.

Yes. The pendatangs, as you so elegantly put it, are indeed insecure. They have always been. I don’t dispute that because that is a fact. When a person refers to another with uncomplimentary terms, it is not so much on the words used, but the underlying meaning. It is precisely because of their past, that motivates them to better themselves and their future generations, hence the kiasu, kiasi & competitive characteristics. And please don’t assume that all the Chinese are an ungrateful lot…

No, I was not part of the Chinese tsunami. You are correct that the Chinese plus the MCA & Gerakan members abandoning BN, but it’s the cause and reason that led to it that is more important. I blame the politicians. While the recent PRU13 results also shows us that UMNO can indeed win by itself, it also shows the Malays that it is they, who are the ones who holds the dice, with 3 major parties to choose from.

Yes, I’ve read the white paper. My point of mentioning the victims in hospitals is to highlight the fact that the reaction part often misses the real targets but other real persons become victims. The reason is because 1969 is often brought up. Of course, the Chinese would end up paying dearly. Well, I’m just stating the fact that each side still does blames each other. While those directly involved are already senior citizens. And to be clearer this time, I do not dispute the accounts of the event. The point is, if that is the only solution, then do we need to repeat that every 45 years?

Defending Malay rights (or ethnic rights) and governing a country are 2 different things. That’s how the Chinese view it. Which explains the silence from the community on MCA’s absence in government. It’s when politicians, office holders, mix these 2 things up, that creates the negative perception. When a Home Minister tells certain citizens to get out of the country, isn’t that a threat and abuse of power? To be meaningful, Kongsi has to be in its true sense. This has a direct correlation on my comments out of government, out of country remark. The posts in government will not determine MCA’s future and survival. Gerakan is a good example. MCA using government posts as an election issue backfired, because it is viewed as a threat. Same for the Perkasa’s white ang pow cockup. It’s the members and the Chinese community that will determine it’s continuity. And the direction UMNO takes will have a direct bearing on this as well. Having said that, I have my reservations on the quality and capabilities of the current crop of leaders in MCA.

If we look past politics, the fact remains that, other communities, Chinese & Indians, are abandoning BN, UMNO. What does that tell us? That their position in BN is untenable. The reason is insecurity & also trust. They do not trust UMNO.

Where has the trust gone, like in 1984, when Tun Ghafar Baba helped MCA, or in 1987 when Tun LLS held the fort? in 1999, when the Chinese stepped up to defend UMNO? We often overlook this trust, built though the years, which is a phenomenal achievement given our multi-racial & multi-faith demographics. I don’t think we can see another example of this anywhere in the world. That is the real achievement of our country. And we did it with each race still retaining their individual culture, language, traditions and way of life.

And it is precisely because our past leaders recognised and accepted the race and religious differences that has brought peace and harmony, laying the very foundation that has enabled our country to grow and prosper. So, how could these 2 factors be viewed as the cause of the problems now, unless we want them to be?

I have no idea about this Chris person’s track record. Their motive is to elicit the type of response they want. You see, when UMNO supporters or leaders whack the Chinese, it is actually the Chinese community and MCA that bears the brunt. not DAP. DAP reaps the rewards. DAP does not share the same position in Chinese society as MCA.

If the political culture in this country requires each race or religion, to whack the other to get support, or even promoting hatred towards the government, then I don’t see any future, and certainly spells the end of the Kongsi concept. Realistically, if the Chinese community are so despised and hated and are indeed viewed as the cause of all problems, then what future do they have in this country? And wouldn’t it better for them to leave the country, in an orderly manner? If that is indeed the case, then it wouldn’t matter which party the Chinese voted for anyway.

        • I think the Malays are now fed up. Even with Najib bending backwards for the Chinese also, they gave him a Chinese tsunami.

That’s why the Malays are now wanting Najib replaced, calling for a strongly Malay UMNO President who will take a no nonsense stand, no more “always accomodating” in running this country. Not even any association with Zionist Israel by way of slogan and stuff.

Just rely on the Malay votes which gave UMNO 88 seats and on the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak who gave over 30 seats at the last election. And on the non-tsunami Chinese and Indians who have been grateful for the Malays agreeing that the pendatang be given citizenship right after 150 years of being Stateless in this country.

Yes, those not grateful, not respecting and abiding by the Constitution and the Social Contract – tell them to go to countries whose system and whose constitution they will respect. Well known personalities have said so and I support that fully.

          • The tsunami was already unstoppable anyway… the only surprise was the percentage. Najib rightly did what he had to do, so now nobody can say he did not try, and the Chinese instead are made to feel guilty, and rightly so. Most Chinese likes Najib.

I suppose if UMNO still wants the kongsi concept, then Najib is an asset. If UMNO decides to go it alone with Malays, then Najib is probably not needed.

    • “BN is still the government la… sans the Chinese… isn’t that what you want?”

Why you say like that one? The Chinese don’t want la. Two Ministries meant for MCA got “temporarily covered” by UMNO Ministers until now what.

Call you stupid, you marah. How man? I just call you stupid lah. Who cares marah or not. Talking thru your nose kind.

Aiseh, you think DAP want those two Ministers posts or not? No? Want the whole lot? Like that you got to try it in mainland China la.

Hullo gig, that PRU13 result was courtesy of the chinese tsunami, in case you have conveniently forgotten. It was a poorly calculated move borne out of an inherently kiasu greed.

  13. Waah, JMD blog got mentioned in The Mole blog clarifying the Endless Possibilities Najib brand. Wonder if The Mole is closely connected with The Fourth Floor of PM’s Dept.

The Mole said, “What Jebat had penned was latched upon by other bloggers and regurgitated on the social media network.” Waah, JMD is a leader, innit? Well done, Jebat. And I can vouch that you are doing it not the Malacca Sultanate Jebat way, but by the democratic, freedom of speech way.
