First and foremost, we would like to congratulate The Mole for being brave in publishing articles which are critical towards Barisan Nasional, its ministers, and especially towards the PM Najib Tun Razak.
Once in a while, The Mole has published this blog’s more stinging articles directed to the group stated above and we are gratified that there still exist credible media platforms which are not afraid to publish excoriating write-ups for the sake of exposing the weaknesses identified. Hopefully all this constructive criticisms will be taken into account to improve further on the back of a disastrous general election recently.
As we all know, the next general election is less than five years away and we have, as the rakyat, another five years to criticise, expose, analyse, judge and even guide the top leadership of this country from any missteps and wrong decisions made. Therefore, please brace yourselves. Politicians, especially the young ones who can’t stand the heat, please stay out from the kitchen. Similarly, the malay phrase for this is – if you are afraid of the waves, then don’t live near the seashore.
But all these criticisms will be written in another article although barely two months after the general elections, there are already a few dozens blunders made and are begging to be written about.
But today we are going to read is about a brief analysis on the recent movement of people in the media industry.
The big news for the past week is the exodus of Leslie Lau, his sister Joan Lau and their band of misfits from The Malaysian Insider to The Malay Mail.
There is a mystery on why the Malay Mail shareholders didn’t find it necessary to own the majority shares of Trinity Diligence Sdn Bhd, or employ Leslie Lau and Joan Lau right under their payroll. That would be safer, and more cost effective and have all the necessary procedures to discipline any wayward behaviour of editors. Because it doesn’t make sense for Malay Mail to outsource another company to manage an online media that uses The Malay Mail brand. If there are any negative news published in that online platform, it will have an impact on the reputation of Malay Mail as a company, not to Trinity Diligence.
How can they control the day to day operations and editorial direction?
Unless of course, Malay Mail directors and its shareholders are glutton for punishment and love firefighting activities where they had to mitigate any repercussions after a damage has been done.
And why would the contents of The Malay Mail paper are entirely different from its ‘outsourced’ online platform? Why would the owners of the brand ‘Malay Mail’ do it this way? Unless of course, there are different agendas (read: propaganda) planned for it. As we all know, there are different rules and laws applied between a newspaper and the online news platforms. Newspapers need to have their permits and licenses; online portals don’t.
Hence, online portals are freer to publish its contents without any parameters to adhere to.
And we all know where the loyalty of Leslie Lau lies with. He made no secret of it. As a very pro-Pakatan Rakyat editor with trails of articles lambasting Barisan Nasional and their leaders (although he is quite fond towards Pak Lah and very anti-Dr. Mahathir), his skewed and often biased writings can be searched easily in the Malaysian Insider.
There is no point to announce that the new Malay Mail online is independent and support neither Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat when history of his writings speaks for itself.
There in lies the bigger picture..
..that another pro-Pakatan Rakyat portal has been established – whether accidentally or by design, right under the nose of the owners of The Malay Mail who incidentally, have very close ties to the Najib administration. With this latest development, this oldest newspaper in Malaysia, will never be the same again.
Of course with the arrival of an editor and his team of journalists, the current chief editor of The Malay Mail has to make way for Leslie Lau. Terence Fernandez, allegedly made his way to fz.com as the result of this. A few of The Malay Mail editorial staff are already there. Terence is slightly less partisan than Leslie Lau in terms of his writings but it is not a difficult thing to say that his leanings is definitely towards Pakatan Rakyat. Therefore, fz.com gained another pro-Pakatan Rakyat senior editor to shape its direction.

Speaking of which, we now move on to The Star.
The Star ‘s editorial stand is a puzzle to begin with. Eventhough the company belongs to MCA, it often act as DAP’s mouthpiece. They spray DAP’s propaganda in its pages and would even promote shamelessly the key figures in DAP party. A fact that is not lost on the blogger Helen Ang. She is well known in exposing’s The Star’s treacherous articles against MCA and Barisan Nasional.
Are the owners of The Star that stupid? Calvin Sankaran aptly described The Star – “I would compare The Star with a girl who is high maintenance who spends her rich boyfriend’s money freely and having a good time doing it while at the same time sleeping with her BF’s sworn enemy and making jokes about her BF.”
Why would the owners (read: MCA) let this happen?
We would surmise this through one of MCA’s local leader’s tweets a few days ago. Although Ti Lian Ker’s opinions are his own and may not necessarily reflect the MCA leadership, we can take his as a base perspective. Ti Lian Ker was responding to an article forwarded to him about The Star’s backstabbing nature. What we can deduce from the tweet interaction is the fact that The Star had chosen to engage the middle ground. Thus they want to portray themselves as giving more space to DAP leaders compared to BN leaders.
But when most of the news that are originally sourced for example, from Lim Guan Eng’s foul mouth or Hannah Yeoh’s anti-malay stance, there is nothing more to engage the middle ground. The Star, had erroneously believed that in order to gain more readers and be seen as independent, they are helping MCA garner more votes which, according to the recent general election, The Star had failed to do so.
In order to gain more votes for Barisan Nasional, what The Star should have done (this is where Wong Chun Wai had failed to do so) is whenever Lim Guan Eng or Lim Kit Siang give out anti-BN jibes in a press conference, the reporter should contact any BN leaders, get comment from them to rebut whatever the father-son had said in order to give it a more balanced story fit to be published. This is what we call ‘balanced and independent’.
You don’t let a story run by itself and imprinted in the readers’ mind for days on what the DAP leaders had said without even having the right of reply by a BN leader WITHIN the same news story. This happens everyday for the past few years. And if the middle ground read all these, do you think they will suddenly want to vote Barisan Nasional?
Even the editorial staff of The Star are blatantly supporting Pakatan Rakyat’s leaders through their twitter accounts. What kind of message do you want to give to Barisan Nasional voters? That it is okay to vote for Pakatan Rakyat?
When the mouthpiece of MCA is singing praises and letting DAP leaders hurling vitriol towards Barisan Nasional, why would voters vote for Barisan Nasional?
There is no more middle ground among The Star’s readers. Especially among the english speaking chinese. Majority of them have swung towards DAP. No thanks to The Star’s ‘middle ground engagement’.
MCA leaders must be high on drugs when they say that The Star should be given space to run its story. And for the purpose of comparing who gets the job done, Utusan Malaysia was successful in getting the malay votes. Umno’s increased seat is proof to that. How do they do it?
What has The Star done to help MCA getting the votes? It doesn’t matter if you receive millions of advertising money from The Star. We can’t believe MCA leaders are looking at things as immaterial as advertising money. Even till today, MCA are like headless chickens running around not knowing what to do when decisions in every Barisan Nasional state seemed not beneficial towards their community. Just swallow your pride and take the posts which were generously offered by Barisan Nasional top leadership.
How could you be the defender of your race if you do not want to be part of the decision making body? You want other people to take care of your fortunes? What happened in Melaka today is fine example when there is lack of participation in the state exco. When the chinese do not want to vote for Barisan Nasional, what do you expect to happen? It is not something by design. If you are not part of the process because you chose it that way, then do not come out crying foul over something that was decided when you weren’t there.
And it seems Wong Chun Wai’s number two – Wong Sai Wan has moved to The Malay Mail (the paper) to be in charge of ‘Special Projects’. We do not know yet what that entails but surely if The Malay Mail is moving towards what The Star is doing, then obviously we will get another version of a paper that is ‘attracting middle ground’.
If you you know something is not working, then stop doing it.
Ultimately, from the recent movement of people in the media, we can conclude that Barisan Nasional has been losing an english daily with the highest readership and it is also losing the battle in english speaking online portals. Being independent does not win you votes. Being smart is. And Barisan Nasional leaders and their friends who are owners of the media are definitely not smart. You have less than five years before you lose in the next general election. What are you going to do?

The biadapness is nothing compared to DAP Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng. No less than DAP vice Chairman Tengku Aziz who said it very clearly that Lim Guan Eng is badap – he said it as he stormed out of the party.
Now, what in the blazes is this biadap Lim Guan Eng banning Utusan from covering the opening ceremony of the Penang Legislative Assembly for? That clearly shows how emboldened he is after the Chinese tsunami.
It’s a formal function, it’s a state government function, it’s an august function clearly symbolizing the vibrancy of democracy. it’s not kepala bapak dia punya social gathering, or some strictly DAP party matter, or his ding ding with the girl called Rainbow with whom he has been alleged to have an illicit affair.
That is also clearly an attempt to weaken UMNO’s influence on the rakyat thru the mass media. While DAP uses the so-called Red Bean cyber troopers to spread hatred, lies, deceits etc in a very irresponsible manner in the online media. The UMNO President must act in a clear cut manner, bold and assertive, giving out the message that what they can do, UMNO can do better. Heck, UMNO is leading the Government now, man. Najib, use your power, otherwise give it up to some others.
Whatever you do or don’t do the buggers will always find fault with you, criticize you, twist and spin what you say or do. But if you do, you will be seen as taking action designed to bring positive results. Exercise some control on the irresponsible so-called news portals like Malaysiakini, Malaysian Insider, Malaysia Chronicle, etc. License them, like Singapore does.

I have finally found the site where the Bumis congregate and think so highly for themselves. Well, if you think you are smarter than the minorities, why dont cant you handle meritocracy? That because you all know you will lose out if the playing field is level. There is no way a bumi can compete with the pendatang if there is fair competition. This is the kind of comments that do not speak for aman or peace in this country. Sneering at the Malays and the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak who have a Special Position under Article 153 of the Constitution, talk about meritocracy and laughed at the so-called tongkat when you buggers were given the tongkat by the British in Penang in the 18th Century, by Menteri larut Ngah Ibrahim in Perak in the 19th Century, even by the Malay=led government after Merdeka in the 20th century – Robert Kuok got the sugar monopoly, Vincent Tan got the lottery license, etc, etc, that made them millionaires and billionaires.
And still getting the tongkat to day – asked for it and Najib gave scholarships even to Chinese who are the richest community for decades in this country. You should have come here earlier Chua, and we would have fun whacking your racist, ungrateful ingrate stand, your ancestors having been here as stateless persons for 150 years even during the entire British colonial rule, got citizenship agreed to by the Malays yet you don’t even want to acknowledge and respect the quid pro quo – the enshrining of the Special Position of the Malays (extended to the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawk on the formation of Malaysia).

The Malays got only the recording into the Constitution of their Special Position, which the British Minister for the Colonies said was there from day one. He said so when discussing the Malaya Independence Bill in the British Parliament. He pointed out that when they first came looking for trading posts in this country, they dealt with the Malay rulers.
Not even thanking the Malays for having agreed to the giving of citizenship right, the DAP is anti-Malay and anti-Islam. What utter ingratitude. This must be set right.

Don’t talk about “Pendatangs will do better in any field” in this country where the British colonialists gave you the education and the economic tongkat, built adequate schools even in the English language in the towns where most Chinese lived, but they built only Malay schools and gave only 4 years education in the kampongs where most Malays lived. Gave you blokes – who have a culture of doing business that the Malays don’t have – all sorts of crutches/ tongkats in the form of licenses, especially lottery and all sorts of gaming licenses, easy money to amass capital to expand business and later control the economy. The British wanting the Malays to concentrate on food production for the country – just be farmers, planting rice etc.
But you blokes were ruled by foreigners for hundreds of years – the Mongols in the 13th Century, the Manchus (Manchuria was a foreign country until after World War II) right to the 20th Century – Hong Kong was returned to China only in 1990. Now you have the upper hand economically in this country you want to talk shit. More and more Malays and the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak are slowly but steadily getting educated in all fields and getting the experience in business and the time will come when blokes like you cannot tolerate it and scram to Canada etc like many have already done.

On the PRK Kuala Besut, Malaysia Chronicle quickly got hold of former UIA lecturer Aziz Bari to state that the Trengganu Ruler can dissolve the state assembly if he cannot decide on who is best to be the Menteri Besar should BN not win. Of course this “Anwar’s online platform” wants fresh elections held in Trengganu which Pakatan Rakyat lost at PRU13. .
But those are not reporting facts, those are reporting “opinions”. The man kept saying “I think … I think ..”. He said “I think (the Sultan) may use his subjective judgment …If the sultan is unsure, then I think he could dissolve the House so that a fresh election could be held.” Yet one State Assemblyman pointed out that the Trengganu State Legislative Assembly Speaker has a casting vote. Meaning, there would not be a stalemate even if it is a 16:16 strength in the State legislative Assembly because the Speaker can use his casting vote whenever necessary.
And the so-called news portal calls him an “expert” – who says he is an expert? Is that not dubious reporting? He is not an expert when he is biased, always “thinks” for and projects the image of Anwar Al Juburi, and once said Nurul Izzah has great potential to be PM, drafted the amendment to the Selangor state Constitution, not even admitting that no amendment could be done because the Pakatan government did not have 2/3 majority. No wonder he is no longer a Professor. A mistake that he was made one before.
Yes, it’s that kind of so-called news portal that needs to be licensed. To make them more responsible in their reporting.

At end of 2011 the Malay Mail announced it was buying content from the Malaysiakini, a so-called news portal that had admitted to receiving funds from the Neocons, Jews and Zionists group in the US that has been supporting Anwar Al Juburi.
It was once a part of the Umno-linked Media Prima Bhd but is now owned by Redberry Media Sdn Bhd. It’s clearly an exercise to consolidate and strengthen the Opposition onslaught on the Establishment. Malaysian Insider is a part of that anti-Establishment camp.
Malaysiakini CEO Chandran at that time claimed Malaysiakini’s role to be as an independent news provider. Bull shit to say it’s independent. It’s not even a “news portal”. It selects the most atrocious comments against the establishment, provides the most irritating headings to attract the attention of the anti-Establishment minded readers. Najib should really license such so-called news portals like Singapore has done. Najib’s speech about it was twisted by his staff to sound no licensing – it was discussed at http://bigdogdotcom.wordpress.com/ some weeks back.
What they publish in the Malay Mail I have not been bothered to read since then – imagining it’s as anti-Establishment as Malaysiakini and therefore not worth reading.

Who reads The Malay Mail these days? Well Anuwar will always be on the lookout for the right Malay male (but that is a different story). Unless the owners have tons or unlimited money supply, I don’t think it will make an impact unless it has a scoop like PM Najib resigning and joining PAS as ordinary member after realizing that he is incompetent to run the country. Or DS Rosmah officially the DPM replacing Muhyiddin after Muhyiddin left to join DAP
But I do agree with your heading “Barisan Nasional – losing the online news platforms” and battles. All the official UMNO/BN online mediums failed miserably and they wasting millions of RM in the process as the people running the sahow do not have hands-on skills nor “street savy” within the context of online battles..

He wants 1Malaysia, being called Ah Jib Gor, so-called unity in diversity, good sounding internationally, no matter the Special Position of the Malays and the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak, the Malays to compete no matter no level playing field, NEP at the back burner, the non-Malays loving him like Tengku A Rahman, no matter if the Malays pea on his grave – he knows they can’t because he has a burial lot in Masjid Negara, protected and safe from desecration.
Just look at even the New Straits Times. The paper that prospered and was well respected under A Kadir Jasin, messed up by Kalimullah who once wrote complaining that the relevant department refused to have him/ child registered as a Malay, and Najib appointed as NST boss some one who allowed an editorial not in line with the paper’s report on Najib’s statement regarding the licensing of news portals. Gawd, even the English used in their reports is sometimes atrocious. Same like the so-called national news agency, Bernama.
I agree with the post article – clearly MCA has not reigned in the recalcitrants in the Star, but I also blame Najib for a so-called liberal disposition. The public certainly got mixed messages and he certainly got a Chinese tsunami.

Whatever you do, until and unless you have a co-ordinated, relentless and sustained counter-attack in the Chinese language FBs, twitters and blogs, you are not getting anywhere with 1Malaysia, you are not getting back the former MCA and Gerakan supporters who went tsunami at PRU13. .
There must be an organization staffed by full-time and monthly paid people conversant in the Chinese language, good in general knowledge, whose job is to counter argue, dispute nonsensical claims and humiliate wild and unsubstantiated allegations. Where relevant, provide the facts and arguments that’ll put them to shame.
And think of how to get into those that may not publish Establishment views. Maybe create similar blogs that can attract similar readership. Like Malaysia Today – one is dotnet (Raja Petra Kamaruddin), the other is dotcom (DAP).

MCA, Gerakan are with DAP. They also co-strategise in their chinese newspapers.
Utusan has to be strengthened for a collective Bumi voice. Funds have to be injected for a wider circulation. It can also be a “counter-lies” voice where “demonised” leaders are given space for rebuttals, to put forth facts and data to demolish spins and false propaganda.
This self-defence and ‘putting things right’ have to be professionally done to lend credibility and integrity.
The youth of today wants their voices heard and if they believe that their concerns and queries will be addressed by the govt thru Utusan, then more youth can and will be engaged. Utusan can be the bridge of communication by being more non-partisan.
This stance does not negate the rights and welfare of Bumiputeras.

Why must we spend RM350 million to fight Red Bean Army? Just ban the Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, and the social medias that is polluting the internet. Then our ungrateful young will not be influence by anti-national news and subversive ideas. Tun Mahathir will have done this long ago if he still was in power. This is despondent times call for decisive actions.
I also strongly urge our government to
1) Restrict Internet use.
Maximum 1GB per mth for ordinary rakyat. Only Telekom or SKMM can issue account to people after checking background. Block websites that is subversive. Block Google Yahoo and replace with government own search engine or enjin carian. We can name it ‘ENC1M’, EC1M, 1MSE.
2) Restrict blogging
Only licensed and pro nasional blogger like JMD, Bigdog, Parpukari, unspinners, gerakan anti PKR can run blogs. Unlicensed bloggers must be prosecuted.
3) Strict internet laws
If you spread opposition propeganda, you go to jail. If you forward anti nasional email, sms then you go to jail. If you open Face book account with a proxy, fine RM10000.
4) Control electronic communication devises
All laptop, computer, ipad, smartphone, modem, must be register with government. If you do not register, fine RM5000 and confiscate.
5) Shut down newsportal like Malaysiakini, Malaysian Insider, Malaysia Today
Websites from approved sources are allowed only. If they open from oversea server the answer is simple. Block.
6) Minimum age to use internet
Government must make law that only 18 above can use internet. This will protect their brain from being poisoned by yellow culture, dangerous idea and pornography.

Jebat, I am not sarcastic.I am serious. The government does not do things I said because they have no guts to do what is needed. We know Pak Lah was a sleepyhead who free Anuwar when he could have held him under ISA forever. All he had is to order Gani Patail to find proof of Anuwar being a Jew or American agent. But Badawi was a sleepyhead PM scared to do what is right demi alif ba ta.
Najib what did he do? He started 1Malaysia and abolish ISA. Things became worse. Now even young Malays dare make fun of Mahathir and UMNO and follow evil ideas such as socialism, comunism, and republicism. Now we cannot get back Selangor and there may be a PAS government in Terengganu soon if he is not careful. Najib could have been leader of ABC BCL movement after GE 13 to teach Chinese a leson but his brother one up him by supporting that bum basher in Air Asia.

Nope. Tun Mahathir will never ban Facebook or Twitter etc because he is very pragmatic and practical. He made a promise not to censor the internet. So your assumption that he will ban all these and block blogs etc is not according to his personality. What he will normally do is to be strict on the laws if someone breaks them. That’s about it. The problem now is the government is seen as too weak in enforcing the law and punishing people. By doing exactly what you recommend (most of them are draconian and extreme), BN will lose more votes. Is that your intention? To get the votes, they just have to be calm and serious in dealing with law breakers. Certainly not by limiting gigabytes, blocking Malaysiakini etc as you suggested. Those don’t even make sense. All these will only turn the people against the government. Turning Malaysia into a police state is the best think that could ever happen to Pakatan Rakyat. Just deal with any lawbreakers with the laws that we have now. And do it with sturdy hands. No flip flopping. Thank you.

Sue fellows to bankruptcy until there were only 2 Oppo MPs in Singapore Parliament, make laws that Tun Dr Mahathir himself said allow the Police to accost any 2 people walking on the street (Malaysian law says 4 persons is an assembly?), make those stealing roadside landscaping plants plant them back in front of live national TV cameras.
Alas, many of those suggested above are too drastic. No likelihood ever for Najib to even think of doing. Even licensing the so-called news portals etc that Singapore has done that our Communication and Multimedia Minister said his Ministry was studying – Najib said something that was reported by New Straits Times as confusing, as discussed in the Big Dog blog about a week ago.
Najib should follow the Singapore way at least. Now is the time to do it. There are another about 5 years to the next elections for policy adjustments and changes for vote catching should decisions made now clearly (and established beyond reasonable doubt) worsen the situation. In the worst case scenario, I think we can maintain the status quo – 88 seats by UMNO and over 30 seats by the Bumiputeras of Sabah and sarawak to enable us to rule. And after the Chinese tsunami, the sentiment of the Malays may prod more to register as voters and to vote at PRU14.
No, Najib’s personality, Najib’s stand as UMNO President is unacceptable to me on many counts. Apart from being weak in enforcing the law, he has been bending backwards to accomodate the Chinese at the expense of the Malays, the NEP, the national language etc, and not making amends even after the Chinese tsunami.
UMNO was formed to protect and promote the rights and interests of the Malays. He hasn’t done much on that count. He does not even believe in leveling the playing field. Chinese students get scholarships when UTAR refused a RM30 million donation from a Chinese millionaire for scholarships etc, and they have clan associations and business guilds that help their poor. And the Malays and the Bumiputeras have only the government to go to for help. Yet their Special Position entrenched in the Constitution justifies helping them. To me, Najib has to go. I hope that happens at the November PAU.

Tiada Melayu yang boleh mengaku dia liberal sekiranya tidak sedarkan bahawa padang mesti di sama ratakan. Sedarkan mereka Cina tsunami ada lah ultra kiasu. Pentingkan diri sendiri amat sangat, mahukan kekayaan, mahukan kuasa, mahukan apa saja, tak mahu kongsi kuasa yang telah berlaku selama 56 tahun.
Segala apa online dan offline news platforms mesti di “aturkan” menuju ke arah perpaduan berdasarkan Perlembagaan negara. Tidak lain dan tidak bukan. Termasuk Ketuanan Melayu yang tersemat di peruntukan peruntukan berkenaan peranan, fungsi dan tanggong jawab YDP Agong, Raja Raja Melayu, Majlis Raja Raja, dsbnya. Dan Kedudukan Istimewa Melayu yang tersergam di Perkara 153. Dan Bahasa Malaysia yang terpapar di Perkara 152.

We as a nation have certainly reached a cross road now. Continue as before with power sharing that was proven effective or take a new course based on racial lines.
The Chinese tsunami appeared to have started the latter. They went for DAP which has been known as racist and chauvinist, anti-Malay and anti-Islam, caused the race riots of 1969.
If we want to continue as before, the online news platforms must be overhauled, re-formed (note the hyphen) in a drastic manner. No half measures as the tsunami blokes will look at them as weaknesses and emboldening them to do further damage to the political structure of this country.
So, try to get more of the “credible media platforms which are not afraid to publish excoriating write-ups for the sake of exposing the weaknesses identified”, and also counter-act on the “losing an english daily with the highest readership and ,, also losing the battle in english speaking online portals.” On the online portals, what else can be done except licensing the ones claiming to be “news portals”? Singapore would have done it if there was an alternative to licensing them.

Blogs that do not claim to be, or do not pretend or purport to be news portals, or do not put out so-called news every day, should be excluded from licensing.
Some even carry the words “news portal” to their name or advertised or projected on their main page. Those must be licensed.
News is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as “Tidings, new information, fresh events reported”. Blogs that habitually do that become news portals, even if they don’t call themselves so. Especially when more often than not they publish opinions rather than facts.
Blogs that only periodically write out posts as comments on events that have taken place, and not doing so every day, or many times a day, should not be required to be licensed. They must not be compared with the likes of Malaysian Insider, Malaysia Kini, Malaysia Chronicle, Free Malaysia Today, etc.
Malaysia Today.com calls itself “Malaysia Today Online News” though they mostly put out opinions favouring DAP and such, and serve as propaganda tools of the opposition, a lot of lies, deceits, half truths, twists and spins . Malaysia kini selects readers’ comments with caustic and heart-wrenching remarks, use them as headlines, published every day and every so often. That kind must be licensed to ensure they become responsible in the “dissemination of their kind of news”.

Another one – what the blardy hell kind of “news portal” is this Malaysia Chronicle? No sense of loyalty to the country at all. They may have political issues at home, but for goodness sake, this is a matter of dealings with a foreign government – why should they instigate the British PM to show disrespect to the man who carries the title Prime Minister of Malaysia?

Chinese Tsunami & Those Descended from Southern China
Practically all Chinese in Malaysia are descended from southern China. Many are law-abiding and Constitution-respecting and they deserve to be called and should be treated as fellow citizens.
But a sizable number does not respect the Constitution and have been anti-Establishment all along. This is perhaps traceable to the fact that their ancestors in southern China have always been the anti-Establishment kind. They resented being ruled by foreigners for hundreds of years – the Manchu Emperors were foreigners from Manchuria, a foreign country until after World War II. They, like the Mongols in the 13th Century, invaded, conquered and ruled China from the 17th until the 20th Century.
The Manchu invasion of China was helped by the treachery of one Chinese General. During the rebellion against the Ming Dynasty Emperor, a Chinese General, Li Tzu-cheng, had captured Peking and proclaimed himself Emperor in 1644. But Li took the concubine of another rebel General, Wu San-kuei, into his harem. Because of the girl, the embittered Wu refused to recognize the new Emperor Li, opened the gates at Shan Hai Kuan and let the Manchu Army in, conquered it and the Manchus started ruling China – Professor C.P Fitzgerald, History of China, pg 542-3.
In this context, watch out the guy with a Rainbow in Penang who has been glorifying Sun Yat Sen and getting other Chinese in this country to his politics. And note that the British first entered Perak due to the treachery of the Kapitan Cina in Larut who, together with 44 gangsters, signed a petition for the British in Penang to assist them recover tin mines lost to rival gangs that have been fighting incessantly under the Ghee Hin and the Hai San banners, and those led to the British sending troops under Capt Speedy etc, ending in the Pangkor Treaty of 1874 and the bloody British ruling Malaya as colonizers. How treacherous were they.
Here‘s Professor Fitzgerald’s account of the Manchus’ attitude towards the Chinese (he stayed in China for 5 years to study the language and dig the records in the Chinese archives):
“The north was loyal, and was trusted – up to a point. The south, embittered and rebellious, was … mistrusted, and oppressed … the ever hostile south. “ – pg 545. Disloyalty, rebellions, treachery, then foreign wars and more rebellions (secret societies, thugs and gangsters originated from south China), suffering and misery in the 19th Century, many absconded China and found their way to the shores of Semenanjung Tanah Melayu.
Those who don’t respect and refuse to live by the Constitution of this country carry a hangover of the mental attitude of the southern Chinese. They need to be brought into mainstream Malaysiana, but those who persistently refuse to respect and live by the Constitution, including the sensitive Articles, need to be told to migrate elsewhere, like has been said even by well-known personalities.”

I somewhat agree with this. I don’t think the Chinese, not all but rather a large number of them, don’t really live up to the constitution and the spirit as Malaysian. They don’t really subscribed to what required as proud Malaysians. They just don’t care and don’t give a damn. The country is as good as to live in. And make some money. Nothing more. Nothing less. They don’t really bother at all. They turned our flag upside down. Here and abroad, butchered our national anthem, and poking fun at YDP Agong. Haven’t you remember there was a suggestion, not too long ago by the opposition to change the national flag should they come to power? That kind of suggestion added to the long list of outrageous and bizarre changes should they managed to crush the current order.
But, if there is a whiff of opportunity to change the order of the day like the recent GE, they don’t hesitate to take it. Hence the active involvement of their youth. A section of community whom before this, don’t care to boot about Malaysian politics. They suddenly plunged in with passion and zeal. So passionate and so extreme up to harassing dark skinned immigrants on buses and at polls stations as to ensure ‘regime change’.

And in London Najib told the BBC that he’d scrap the Sedition Act. After he had scrapped ISA. Despite the fact that even USA still has ISA-like detention without trial in Guantanamo Bay. Last I read, about 160 prisoners languishing there.
Why the hell does Najib do all these things? Now after Chinese tsunami he still wants to bend backwards to placate the Oppo hippos. Now the immature woman MP is going to claim that she has prodded Najib to commit himself to repealing the Sedition Act. Won’t almost everybody become seditious after that? He’s encouraging them. Emboldening them. The DAP Red Beans will have a field day every day after that.

There were news reports recently that the release of nearly 2,000 Emergency Ordinance detainees has contributed to the spike in crime, especially serious crimes. Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi seems to have confirmed that when he said, “When the EO was abolished, many of these criminals were released. Now they are taking advantage of the situation.”
He was commenting on the new special preventive law similar to the EO a draft of which has already been sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He said, “We will make a proper announcement once they have gone through the first draft,” he told reporters in Kampung Baru on Thursday.
But, as the Yanks say, “When it ain’t broke, why fix it?”

Ahmad Zahid Hits Out At Groups Demanding Sedition Act Be Abolished
KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) — Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today hit out at those demanding for the Sedition Act 1948 to be abolished without thinking of the negative impact.
He drew attention to the demands made by certain quarters previously, which resulted in the government repealing the Emergency Ordinance 1969 and the Internal Security Act 1948.
“Now they want the Sedition Act to be abolished. I don’t think there’s a need to do this, because what is left then to protect the people and to ensure continued public order and peace?”
“Furthermore, if the Sedition Act is abolished, all the lies, slander and unfair comdemnation made by the inciters will be regarded as ‘halal’ (permissible), whereas democracy does not ask us to do that,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid said the repeal of certain laws before had seen rising crime rates in the country.
“Even if they were arrested and charged, they (criminals) would always look for technicalities to get away with their crime and the police could not do anythng even if they had strong evidence.”
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid said there would be more in-depth discussion on the law to replace the Emergency Ordinance.
“To demonstrate a policy of openness on this, the Home Ministry, police and Attorney-General’s Chambers will hold a dialogue with non-governmental organisations, individuals and others to obtain feedback, input and comments on the matter,” he said.

Not sure how much the so-called Red Beans have contributed towards BN losing the online news platforms, but Bernama reports that the Federation of Malay-Muslim Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) has urged the government to expedite the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the so-called Red Bean Army to identify those responsible for the efforts to overthrow the government.
The DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang had objected to the establishment of the RCI and it was pointed out that this only reinforced the public perception that the opposition indeed had links to the cyber army, said to be a band of cybertroopers who manipulated facts and spread lies about the government.
