Jebat was a Malay hero. But despite his good intentions, his methods were cruel, misguided and unwieldy. His anger towards a Sultan, led him to murder thousands of innocent lives. In the end, Jebat must die...

But I just cannot resist the temptation of posting this one;

Anwar: Buktikan siapa rogol siapa

MELAKA, 18 Julai (Bernama) — Penasihat Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, yang sedang dalam siasatan polis kerana tuduhan meliwat, meminta polis membuktikan empat fakta yang kukuh sebelum membenarkan DNA beliau diambil.

“Bukti pertama, siapa rogol siapa, saya sakit pinggang, budak universiti (bekas pembantunya Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan) kuat.

“Bukti kedua, di mana (berlakunya kejadian), ketiga tempat mana dan keempat di mana saksi,” katanya ketika menyampaikan ceramah politik yang dihadiri lebih 1,000 orang di Cheng di sini malam ini.

Was it a Freudian slip? Or a mere slip of the tongue?

All I know is, from this exact words that he uttered, he is trying to say that the alleged act did happen but it’s not him who sodomises Saiful but it could be the other way round!

That is why, if any of Anwar loyalists ever read this, please tell him to stop talking too much as it will sometimes cause more damage to his credibility.

I would like to point out another observation I made regarding his political rally.

The purported death threats on his life were just the product of his overactive imagination and an attempt to divert attention and gain sympathy.

Not many people attended his public rally which as I see it, a true reflection of the support by the people. Therefore, I can derive a couple of points out of this;

- that the 50% support Pakatan Rakyat had garnered during the last general election was heavily misconstrued by Anwar as the people’s real support to his cause. True to the many analyses by pundits, the BN’s loss in the last general election was only due to the frustration on Pak Lah’s government, not the overwhelming support for Pakatan Rakyat. Even the leaders in the Pakatan Rakyat did not foresee this kind of turnaround of support to them.

- Seeing he had no huge support from the people from Day 1 of this incident (with the exception of the rally in Kelana Jaya which by the way was a protest against the fuel hike), he cooked up a lot of tactics to disinform and rile up the public’s sentiments through allegations of conspiracy by the government. On 1 July, Wan Azizah, upon a meeting with Pak Lah even said that:

“Earlier, Dr Wan Azizah said she would hold the prime minister to his word over his assurance of Anwar’s safety.

She said the premier gave his personal guarantee that investigations into a sodomy charge against Anwar would be handled with fairness and professionalism.

She stressed that they were ready and willing to assist in the investigations.

“We have sent letters stating our willingness to assist both the IGP and the A-G, but until now we have yet to receive any reply,” she added.”

See how the chameleonic Anwar and his people had change their stand time and time again just to suit their ever changing run of bad luck? How many times does he want to lie and lie to the public?

Anwar’s lawyer (R. Sivarasa) had also pointed out that they have yet to receive the police report by Saiful although according to the law, the police is not entitled to provide the police report to Anwar and his lawyer. The law read as follows :

“Section 51A of the CPC, titled Delivery of certain documents, reads as follows;

(1) The prosecution shall before the commencement of the trial deliver to the accused the following documents:

(a) A copy of the information made under Section 107 relating to the commission of the offence to which the accused is charged, if any;

(b) A copy of any document which would be tendered as part of the evidence for the prosecution; and

(c) A written statement of facts favourable to the defence of the accused signed under the hand of the Public Prosecutor or any person conducting the prosecution.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (c), the prosecution may not supply any fact favourable to the accused if its supply would be contrary to public interest.”

Was Sivarasa so stupid that he did not know the law? Actually I know that he is well versed with this law but he chose to play up with public sentiment and create doubts over this whole ordeal. Which is not surprising since Sivarasa is an MP in Subang. Whatmore, he is an MP and VP of PKR! Naturally, the survival and the integrity of Anwar is the most important factor in Sivarasa’s political career. To a certain extend, I suspect Sivarasa could not even uphold the code and ethics of the Bar profession throughout this ordeal. And true to the occasion, Sivarasa is trying hard to plant the seeds of doubt so that Anwar could at least win in the court of public opinion. Now I am more convinced that Anwar did it.

Thank you and have a good weekend. Jebat Must Die will probably return on Monday.

Anyway, today’s highly recommended good reading material and its near relevance to this article is :

Anwar Ibrahim!

But only by a whisker…

But it’s a no brainer really since I know that Anwar is a good orator.

However, I’m glad to say that the speakers did not overly succumbed themselves to spew rhetorics all over the place (although I did wish Shabery could wipe his mouth once in awhile). And my little hope that the debate would be an informative and exciting one did quite come true. Kudos to both speakers.

First, lets start with Shabery Cheek. He started off well. But somewhere in the middle, he lost focus. He did not even answer a question by Zulfkifli Sulong’s first question convincingly. The question was simple - what happened to the amount of RM4 billion saved from the increase of fuel price in 2006 and the purported RM13 billion saved in last month’s increase of fuel price? He went off topic and failed to answer it correctly. Good dodging technique I supposed. The 4th floor boys should have prepared him for this.

I know I should not judge the man harshly because he is a newbie in the cabinet. First time minister. But he disappoints me when he would launch a personal attack on Anwar Ibrahim everytime he was unable to debate a certain point credibly. But on the other hand, Anwar, with all the skeletons in his closet was an easy target for Shahbery’s personal attacks on him. Anwar could only smile or tap his forehead everytime Shahbery launch these attacks on him.

When Anwar wanted to highlight the IPP issue, Shabery could have easily refuted Anwar’s claim by saying that at that time, the beneficiaries of the lop sided agreement between TNB and the IPPs were companies well connected to Anwar i.e., Malakoff etc. Shabery also could have easily invalidated Anwar’s claim that the government does not care about the people by mentioning the many incentives the government had given to the people since the general election.

To cut the story short, Shabery’s failure in this debate epitomizes the quality in Pak Lah’s administration. Maybe he should just resigned since he could not defend his boss’ flip flop decisions.

Next, Anwar Ibrahim. He started off well, and ended it well. Too bad it was only an hour’s show. I’m quite surprised that Anwar did not launch into an endless tirade of speeches unrelated to the topic at hand. There were moments where he dwelled too much on the inefficiencies and mismanagement of the current government but I guess he deserved to gloat about it because during his day, under the stewardship of Dr Mahathir, the government had managed the economy rather efficiently. And to quote him “we are now comparing ourselves to Venezuela, Somalia, Iran etc when in the 90’s we are at par with Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea”.

Anwar was spot on when he said he does not criticise Petronas. To him, Petronas is doing a marvellous job. It was the BN government whom he is criticising. I could not agree more with that statement. It is ironic that Anwar is defending Petronas while people like KJ and his minions are openly criticising Petronas and wanting them to make public their already publicized accounts. My previous article about Pak Lah backstabbing the nation should also apply to KJ.

If Umno lets KJ to rule them all, it would be like handing him a knife/keris to stab the whole nation at the back.

Okay, continue on. Anwar however, was not quite right when wanting to reduce the price of fuel to RM2.20 per litre. In his calculations, RM5 billion is needed for this (he did not say how he derived at this amount). He would slash the 40% reserve capacity of TNB and renegotiate the IPP agreements. That would save him about RM2 billions. Then, he would take RM1 billion from Petronas’ special dividend payout to subsidize the price cut further.

This is a very, very short term and simple way out which will have a negative impact on the economy. I assume the RM5 billion is the amount to be subsidized further on top of the already heavily subsidized fuel price for this year alone. Assuming the fuel price remain constant next year, another extra RM5 billion is needed to maintain next year’s fuel price. Do we need to further cut the reserve capacity of TNB? Do we need to have another round of renegotiation with the IPPs? I’m sure Anwar would have other ideas from where to find the money when the time comes.

But my point is, Anwar should not come out with plans that is just merely “taking money from left pocket and put it in the right pocket”. He should have thought it in a much bigger picture. He should increase the personal income tax of the rich, create national buffer of fuel stock (very much like rice buffer), and find ways to increase the income of the nation through foreign direct investments. As it is, the FDI of the country is decreasing due to lack of leadership from the current government.

These measures sound simplistic but they have their merits. And it is way better and more responsible than to simply provide immediate relief to the people without buffering the nation’s income to supplement the increase in cost of living. That is akin to the style of Pak Lah’s administration.

As a conclusion, I still feel that the debate is pointless. What do we have in the end? The fuel price is still RM2.70, Pak Lah’s cabinet ministers are all unable to fend their own decision, all economic advisers of the government failed in doing their jobs, Anwar reaffirmed that he is just a populist leader without any clear and viable economic gameplan, and Pak Lah is still the Prime Minister we wish we never had.

On another note, as I write this, Anwar Ibrahim was just arrested near his home with about 20 men wearing ski masks. I find this appalling to say the least. The police seems to never learn their lesson. Why do they need to have up to 20 men wearing ski masks to arrest him? Anwar is not an ordinary criminal. He is an extraordinary ex-criminal. The matter could have been done in a more friendly and proper way. Syed Hamid Albar needs to resign for the lack of tact and subtlety. Musa Hassan should be demoted to become a constable in the process.

I still think that this debate would be a pointless exercise. But somehow, I had this sliver of hope that the debate will turn out to be an informative and an engaging one. Hopefully it will not be a platform for either one of the politicians to push for their own personal and selfish agenda.

In other words, any political rhetorics will surely defeat the objective of this debate. As I recall, Anwar wanted to challenge the government on the decision of rising the fuel prices. Now this is where we can see how Anwar can offer his thoughts on how to decrease the fuel prices.

I sure hope he can say that he has the ability to decrease the price of fuel back to what it was 2 months ago.

But knowing Anwar, I am sure he will take this opportunity to stamp his presence in the mainstream media with a barrage of incessant and irrelevant issues at hand. That is why I thought this debate is going to be pointless.

Diverting attention would be his greatest ploy to gain popularity. Take this Newsweek article for example. Anwar was interviewed by the magazine’s reporter, Jonathan Kent. An interesting question by the reporter somehow peaked my interest. It goes like this;

Kent: The government has again made allegations of sexual misconduct against you. What is your response?

Anwar: It’s disgusting of them to repeat this, but there is a difference from last time. [Now] I don’t cast aspersions on the entire government machinery or on the prime minister. I’ve no evidence to link him to fabricating evidence, but [Najib's] office appears to be involved. I also have evidence on the fabrication and suppression of evidence in my 1999 trial involving the current Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General.

Now this is why I dub Anwar as ‘Darling of the Western Media’. See how the US based magazine worked hand in hand with Anwar in diverting his current sexual charges? They just love him to death!

Firstly, it was not the government who made the allegations. It was HIS OWN AIDE. And see how Anwar here did not link Najib to the so called conspiracy simply because he has no evidence of it. But, he managed to create an insinuation that Najib appears to be in cahoots with Saiful over a mere happenstance (Saiful took picture with Najib’s aide and Saiful went to see Najib to complain about Anwar). In fact, I am surprised that the reporter did not do his homework. Should I start relegating Newsweek to the same level as our mainstream media?

Then follows the second question;

Kent: So you believe the charge against you was prompted by the fact that you are about to make public new evidence against these officials?

Anwar: Yes. The sodomy allegation may have been prompted because the police chief and the Attorney-General are privy to my initial complaints against them [from 1999]. The former volunteer in my office who made these latest sodomy allegations has been part of Najib’s apparatus, and we have evidence to that effect.

Huh? As far as we know, Anwar had no inclination to make public any of this so called new evidence. He was so busy dealing with PKR’s nepotisme issues at that time. In fact, a day before Saiful made the police report on 28th June 2008, Anwar’s blog posted a rather mild article about ‘pantun Melayu’. There were no announcement regarding any ‘new evidence’ anywhere in all the articles concerning him prior to the 28th June . And we all know how Anwar will rant and shout about something new he just stumebled upon. But in this case, there was none.

As a matter of fact, if the AG and the IGP were so afraid of Anwar and they had to resort to create the trumped up charges through Saiful, why would Anwar dragged Najib into this whole mess?

Maybe because Najib was a convenient target? We now venture into the realm of conspiracy theories. Cooked up by Anwar himself.

Okay then. All these conspiracy theories will absolve Anwar from any sodomy charges in the eyes of his loving supporters.

You’re clean Anwar. No need to investigate you further. You are the cleanest, the most ethical and the most unselfish politician in the world.

Nevertheless, Anwar should not even be this panicky. He should just emulate and learn from what the veteran singer Datuk M. Daud Kilau had gone through. At least the singer came out more dignified than Anwar.

Can’t wait to watch them on the telly tonight. I wanna see how both politicians outwit each other in this possible pointless exercise.

IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK! (well, sort of)

I was away in another country with very limited news from Malaysia. Was only able to access this blog through my handphone. Hence, was unable to post any articles for the past week or so. Not that I’m obliged to write on a daily basis anyway. But I’m telling ya, try going away for a few days and you will find yourself swamped by an avalanche of news once you come back.

Need to do some catching up on the blogs of fellow bloggers and reading the nauseating news in the mainstream media. It amazes me that after a few days out of the country, things hadn’t really changed. In fact, it got worse.

For a start, I just learned that we are gonna be stuck with Pak Lah for yet another TWO years! What happened? Did he not read the memo? Did somebody forgot to tell him that we want him out NOW? Were all Umno MT members drugged into submission during the meeting?

All those nights of fantasizing the possibility of getting a new (and clever) Prime Minister come this December just came to naught. I wonder what Pak Lah really felt when his retirement announcement was met with a thunderous applause by the Umno delegates last Thursday. His skin must have been really, really thick.

To me, Pak Lah will be remembered as the Umno President whom had unsystematically destroy Umno and had brought Barisan Nasional to its knees. Since 2003, he had done nothing except to make the country and the rakyat suffer from every flip flop decision he made. The most recent would be the decision on the Thailand rice purchase.

By June 2010, I sure hope Pak Lah will remove the knife (or keris) from Barisan Nasional’s back. What a backstabber. “The Prime Minister who backstabs the nation”. Wow. Now that’s deep. Not unlike the other backstabber whom we love to hate or love to adore, depending on which side you’re on. But I guess birds of a feather do flock together.

A Prime Minister that backstabs the nation. Let’s take a moment and think about that sentence…

By the way, doesn’t it make your blood rushed to the head when you read that Harley Davidson bought MV Agusta for USD109 million recently? The longer Pak Lah at the helm, the more damaging he will be. If you do not believe me, then I really hate to tell you people “I told you so” 6 months down the road.

Anyway, I also came to learn that Anwar Ibrahim was acting up again. This time, he is throwing tantrums like a pre-teen. Is this so called ‘Prime Minister in waiting’ thinks he is above the law? Think about all the things he could do if he really was the Prime Minister. Do we really want a diva as a Prime Minister?

From his actions, I do not think he is interested in clearing his name quickly. Actually, he wants the police to arrest him so that he will regain popularity and become a martyr. Who does he think he is anyway? Jose Rizal?! Don’t make me barf. I barfed the other time reading about Pak Lah and Gorbachev. But that was not as bad as Joceline Tan’s rendition of equating KJ and Che Det though.

The bottomline is, both Pak Lah and Anwar are bankrupt of ideas anyway.

And lastly, Mr. Bung Mokhtar Radin. The troublemaker. He is a scum. For the love all things holy, why on earth did the people in Kinabatangan vote for him? Are they bereft of any common sense? And why are his actions left unchecked? According to Umno’s constitution [fasal 20.8 (f) & (g)], he should be subjected to some disciplinary action. Oh well, Pak Lah is not known to be a strict disciplinarian anyway. Is this good for a developing nation?

The Star today printed a laughable commentary by one of its writer, Baradan Kuppusamy which had equated Pak Lah with Mikhail Gorbachev - the former president of the once mighty Soviet Union. Maybe I shouldn’t be harsh on The Star since the writer had simply made his assertions based on an article in The Economist recently.

For those who missed it, here is an excerpt;

THE latest issue of respectable The Economist compared Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi as possibly the Mikhail Gorbachev of South-East Asia, referring to the Russian statesman who oversaw risky reforms that gently killed the old Soviet regime and saw the birth of a new Russia.

The weekly posed the question, without answering it, whether Abdullah had the gumption to take a similar risk like Gorbachev to reform an increasingly dysfunctional system dominated by a single party and a single theme since independence.

It amazes me how the mainstream media would spin and spin any news which had seemed to give a positive assesssment on our benevolent prime minister. It seems that the emperor’s new clothes will continue to be spun indefinitely.

What benefit to Malaysia if Pak Lah follows the footsteps of Mikhail Gorbachev? He was the root cause of the fall of Soviet Union. With his calls of reform (perestroika), Russia’s economy deteriorated further into oblivion and the once strong nation crumbled into several independent states. As the result, the cold war ended and United States of America emerged as the ONLY superpower in the world. With the balance of power tipped over to the US in the early 90’s, the world plunged into war conflicts more frequent than Pak Lah’s visits to Perth. The Gulf War, the Bosnian War, the invasion of Afghanistan, the Chechen Wars, Kosovo War, the invasion of Iraq and any other wars occured in the 90’s and the new millenium can be traced from the fall of the Soviet Union on 26th December 1991.

Hundreds of years’ effort by their past leaders in unifying Russia as a mighty empire had been dismantled by a president who had the wrong vision for the nation. Although his intention in making economic reforms was noble, his effort in introducing more freedom of speech and to allow dissent proves to be disastrous to the formidable Russia. Gorbachev and Pak Lah failed to realize that there is a direct correlation between non performing economy with the greater freedom of expression a country has.

The article further stated;

Abdullah promised major reforms soon after talking power in November 2003 and the people welcomed the promise, giving him the biggest political mandate in our history but the promises were not translated into concrete action.

As a result, voters punished Abdullah on March 8.

This can’t get anymore wrong! The voters did not punish Pak Lah because he did not undertake the reforms he promised. The voters punished Pak Lah because he destroyed the well oiled system further with more rampant corruption, stifling of dissent, shutting avenues for criticisms and extreme meddling in government’s policy by his cronies and family members. Shame on The Star for trying to change facts. But then again, all mainstream media editors have no shame and backbone anyway.

It then continues;

Significantly, he also appointed critics and reform-minded individuals like lawyer Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad into the Cabinet as initiators of reforms.

He also announced a new broad-based anti-corruption commission to oversee the ACA and a Judicial Appointment Commissions to return credibility to the battered judiciary.

However, both these and other reforms measures are plodding along so slowly that people are worried.

It is common knowledge the reform measures face serious opposition from the remnants of the old regime that still populate Abdullah’s Cabinet, the large political establishment and the bureaucracy.

Is this for real? Lets see what benefits Malaysians received by the appointments of those two clowns. Hmmm… one, the ex gratia payments and wrongly apologising to judges who committed wrongdoings. Two, increased in petrol prices and higher cost of living. It seems that those two do not even know what they are doing.

The other two commissions may not see the light of day but the truth is, the majority of the people do not even give a rat’s ass about it. People are not worried about all those rhetorical reforms. They are worried only about their difficult livelihood in the regressing economy these days.

Why do I think Pak Lah is a fool? Because he is trying to dismantle the very thing that puts him in power in the first place - and with disastrous after effects! It was the old regime which had enabled him to wield such power even if he is too dim-witted to use it effectively. In the end, he is left with an unstable nation and deteriorating economic conditions. All through his own brainless leadership!

And then The Star gave us the impression that Pak Lah is very popular and powerful;

If Abdullah is returned unopposed as Umno president in the party elections in December, as it seems likely because of the nomination system that favours incumbents, he would have bought himself enough political capital to convince the party warlords that reforms, even mild ones, are urgently necessary.

It was his Reform Agenda that gave Anwar’s election campaign a populist flavour and propelled him to within reach of the seat of power. Abdullah can take a chapter from Anwar’s book to speed up the glasnost the country needs.

Here, the article contradicts itself. How can you praise somebody who wants to reform the nation and advocates regime change but at the same time steadfastly hangs on to the ways of the old regime? And yet, The Star finds nothing wrong in this.

Glasnost was the main cause on why Soviet Union lost its power and became smaller by the exclusion of the independent states of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, and Turkmenistan. Do we want to see Malaysia divided and economically destroyed by extreme freedom of speech and a weak leader at the helm? Russia never really recovered. Not even Boris Yeltsin could stop its impending doom. Prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, it was the second largest economy after the United States. Russia gained some respect only after Vladimir Putin took a tougher stand and integrated parts of the old regime into his administration.

If Anwar also follows Gorbachev’s methodology, then we Malaysians are truly screwed. You know what happened to Gorbachev in the end? He was removed from power rather embarrasingly after a coup attempt and had to resign in shame on 25th December 1991. Is this the path Pak Lah wants to take? Maybe The Economist would want Malaysia to end this way. But how stupid can The Star be to fall into this trap by the westerners? The West, under the disguise of freedom of speech, democracy and free market only wanted one thing - to rule the world and screw the developing countries into submission. Have we forgotten the term ‘economic colonization’?

Lastly, the article ended with;

The challenge now is not just reforms but also to preserve national peace against new and conflicting demands on the national polity. And that’s a job where everybody, Anwar included, has to share responsibilities.

The good thing about reforms is that once set-off, they have a way of snowballing on their own and sweeping aside, even the initiator, as happened to Gorbachev.

National peace and economic prosperity can only be achieved through strong leadership. No flip flopping in its policy and making unintelligent decisions. Even Patrick Teoh was spot on in this.

And the last paragraph is really descriptive and self explanatory. Do we want an unstoppable snowballing effect? What Gorbachev had achieved is the destruction of the only superpower which can neutralise the advent of the greedy United States of America. No wonder The Economist had nothing but praise for Gorbachev. To the US, Gorbachev is the reformer whom they should support. To the Russians, Gorbachev was the bringer of despair and the destroyer of a nation. He had single handedly destroyed the pride and the dignity of his own people within his 6 year rule from 1985 to 1991. Hopefully, Malaysians will not make the same mistake. Pak Lah should resign immediately.

Remember, the road to hell is often paved with good intentions.

A reader of similar kindred spirit sent a couple of comments in my last article which I must share with all readers. The first is the analytical review of the facts and slander on the purported relationship between Ms Altantuya Shaaribuu and Datuk Seri Najib while the second would be the analysis on how the statutory declaration by My Bala was taken place . A million thanks to Lekiu for the fact finding effort. I could not have done it better. But first, lets see what Anwar had said in the press conference on the 3rd of July, slandering Datuk Seri Najib in the process. The video is a must watch so that we can relate to what Lekiu had commented.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The comment;

The Government of Malaysia signed an agreement with the French to buy 2 Scorpene boats/submarines in 2002. As early as October 2001 a decision has been made by the Malaysian Govermment to purchase the boats/submarines which was a blow to the Dutch who wanted to sell their Zwaardvis Class.

According to Bala’s SD, Razak Baginda was supposedly introduced to Altantuyaa in Singapore at a diamond exhibition. The premiere diamond exhibition in Singapore is the Singapore International Jewellery Exhibition which began in 2005.

Altantuyaa was born in 1978. Altantuya only moved to Hong Kong in 2005 to further her career (some say as an escort). Prior to that date she was married and had a child as late as in 2003.

It brings to mind several issues :-

1. Bala alleged that a commission of USD500K was due to Altantuyaa. If Malaysia had signed an agreement with the French in 2002 for the purchase of the boats/submarines, wouldn’t the commission mean that Altantuya was involved in the negotiation for the boats/submarines in 2000-2002? She was 22 in the year 2000. If it is true that Najib agreed for a commission due to her, which means Najib would have to have a seriously intimate relation with her for about a few years. Give and take 2-3 years, she was 19-20 years old when she started dating Najib? Does it make sense that Najib in his need to impress a girl promise her USD500K? She was 19-20, a 10,000 cash money would be enough!

We all know that in this kind of arms deal, there would be one local company who actively pursue the Malaysian Government and lobbied hard for the Malaysian Government to purchase the boats. Had it been true that Altantuyaa is involved, wouldn’t it been easier to structure the deal in a way that Altantuyaa sits as a proxy in the local company? (JMD : Anwar previously alleged that Perimekar Sdn Bhd was the recipient for the commision. Was Altantuyaa working for Perimekar Sdn Bhd - a local Malaysian company? I doubt it.)

2. Bala also alleged that Najib introduced Altantuyaa to Razak at a diamond exhibition in Singapore. The biggest expo of that nature in Singapore only started in 2005. Razak Baginda and Altantuyaa were married sometime in 2005. If one assumes that Najib and Altantuyaa have had an affair since 1998, it doesn’t make sense for Altantuyaa to agree to marry Razak Baginda after a short introduction now does it?

3. Again we go back to the theory that Altantuyaa was part of the negotiating party in the sale of the boats/submarines to Malaysia, if that was true and that Najib has had an affair with the Mongolian since way back in the late 90’s, why did Altantuyaa re-marry with a Mongolian and had a second child in 2003? Wouldn’t it be more acceptable if she squeezed Najib for a few thousand dollars and remain in France (where the submarine deal was struck)? A much more nicer place to live than Mongolia especially to a young impressionable girl in her early 20’s ?

4. Why the need for her to become an escort if she was dating Najib and presumably after the Agreement to purchase the submarines in 2002 was concluded, money would have been disbursed to all interested parties.

5. Why didn’t she kick up a ruckus after the deal was signed and she was never paid? If the reports are true, she part timed as an escort in 2005 in HK. She needed money, she could have yelled and screamed way back then and yet no such hysterical act.

6. Why only after the marriage to Razak Baginda in 2005 did she rightfully searched for Razak for money? It would make more sense if she chased Najib for the commission? Right?

All I am saying is, the poor murdered woman who turned her back on her 20 over years of faith, embraced a new religion, changed her name and married Razak. Then she came down to KL presumably wanting Razak to be financially supportive as any husband should be.

It wasn’t about commission. It was about Razak’s failure to financially provide as a husband.

8. Doesn’t an inquiring mind ask a valid question, what benefit does Najib has in murdering Altantuya ? If we take Bala’s allegation at face value that Najib had asked Razak to take care of Altantuyaa, I doubt marriage is something Najib had in mind. Had it been true that Razak was suppose to care for Altantuyaa and instead enamoured as it would seem, Razak married her, Najib would have kidnapped Razak and strapped a C4 on Razak instead of Altantuyaa.

In 1998 Anwar had all sorts of conspiracy, blaming everyone from Tun Dr Mahathir to Daim. For a brief time, Anwar had massive ego complex that he paralled his fate to that of Napoleon Bonaparte when he claimed that there was a plan to poison him with arsenic.

The arsenic didn’t kill him, but it does affect his thought process. He has a heightened sense of paranioa. Much like some schizophrenic, he feels that there is a conspiracy to bring him down.

What little function his brain could perform, he fail to understand that it is he himself who has an inclination to self-sabotage.

In an age where conspiracy theories thrive, Anwar has a ready listeners in the thousands to subscribe to his paranioa.

Sometime, it is the simple explanation that is more credible than the outlandish theories which is spun out there.

As a famous scientist, Enrico Fermi, once concluded…. if there are alien civilisations out there, where are they and why havent they contacted us ?

But we all love X Files, ET and the like dont we ?

And as they say, there is a sucker born every minute or is it every day ? Hmm

(JMD : Just like Mark Twain once said - It’s no wonder that truth is stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense. In this case, Anwar’s fiction failed to be credible enough)

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Can you see the amount of slander Anwar made in that press conference? All based on the first Statutory Declaration of Bala which even his lawyer had admitted is not a statement of the truth. How can you slander a person based only on hearsay? And based on Lekiu’s comment above, the choronology of events had absolutely lend credibility to Najib’s assertion that he did not know Altantuyaa and had no sexual relationhip with her. And to reveal Anwar’s hypocrisy on this matter, he made a statement today against people who slanders him:

BUTTERWORTH: Parti Keadilan Rakyat de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied that he or any of his family members had called on the United States for support amid new allegations that he had sodomised his aide.

In a ceramah at the Seberang Jaya exposition grounds here, Anwar challenged his detractors in the Barisan Nasional ruling coalition to show proof that he had contacted the US for support when the allegations surfaced.

“I am prepared to go to court to prove that I did no such thing. I demand an apology from those who do not have the evidence to back their claims.

“Do not resort to such slander and do not demean me,” Anwar told an audience of more than 30,000 people.

Basically, it is alright for him to slander Najib. The fact is, Najib never slandered him. In fact, it was Anwar’s own aide who made the police report. Saiful Bukhary was not even slandering Anwar as he had to undergo medical examination and hours of interrogation to determine the truth. At this point, each Malaysian had to ask this question - what kind of a man Anwar Ibrahim is?

[PLEASE TAKE A QUICK REST BEFORE READING ON]

Lekiu’s other comment was with regards to my earlier commentary on the manner Anwar was arrested in 1998. A reader had highlighted the fact that the reason why Anwar hid in the Turkish Embassy was because he did not want a repeat of 1998 incident. He said that Anwar was arrested in 1998 because of the same sodomy allegation back then. Anwar was eventually beaten in custody.

But the turth was, in 1998, Anwar was arrested not because of a police report was made against him. The police report on sodomy was made by Azizan in 1997. He was arrested on 20th September 1998 because he incited riots in KL. We can still remember the mass rally in Dataran Merdeka and the destruction of public property by the protesters. Due to that, he was arrested using the ISA.

The notion that he hid in the foreign embassy because he was afraid police will beat him up even though he claim he was innocent (of sodomy) was wrong. In 1998, he WAS the mastermind for inciting public riot and the decision of the police to arrest him was correct. Furthermore, the Commonwealth Games was just around the corner back then. The government would not want any of its citizens to tarnish the image of the country. But Anwar was adamant in tarnishing the country’s image. To him, he comes first.

It was unfortunate that he was beaten up by Tan Sri Rahim Noor back then. But to say that he hid because he was afraid police will arrest him and beat him up just because somebody filed a police report on charges of sodomy is dead wrong. And currently, we also know by now that the government never made any intention to assassinate him as he claimed about a week ago. Anwar is a political leader who is riddled with sense of paranoia. Is that good for the country?

Please read Lekiu’s second comment;

Thanks for the refresher on why Anwar was arrested in 1998.

It does give credence to the theory that Anwar’s run with his pants down at his ankle to the Turkish Embassy shows tacit admission of guilt.

It becomes a bit interesting now that the military intelligence chief denies that a report on Altantuya exist. Although such denial would not be deemed credible in the eyes of Anwarists. A need for SD by the Chief perhaps?

I am of the opinion that Bala’s first SD is quite interesting in a stupid Anwar way. There was a declaration by Bala that seem to say that Najib has had anal intercourse with Altantuya. For an SD intended to link Najib to Altantuya, suddenly, in one short paragraph, Altantuya’s alleged sexual predilection comes to the fore.

It does show the desperation that Anwar is under. Anwar is probably saying through Bala, Najib is doing it through the back door as well, why pick on me alone?

And somewhere in the SD, Bala alleged that Altantuya is Najib’s girlfriend and that Razak Baginda was charged with taking care of her. Somewhere towards the end of the SD and in a noble gesture, Razak Baginda and Altantuya decided to marry.

The need to create invisible dots to link Najib and Altantuya seemed never ending in the SD. Anyone who has ever left a woman scorned would know that a woman left high and dry would eventually run back to the bast+#@ who left her.

Even if it is true that Altantuya was Najib’s ex, surely Altantuya would be crying out and seek Najib for help given the scenario that Najib and Altantuya was alleged to have the most intimate of relatonship.

In a worst case scenario, Altantuya could easily hold a press conference and allege all sort of stuff against Najib. Why take the difficult route of screaming and shouting in front of Razak Baginda’s house? For the simple reason that Razak Baginda and Altantuya were husband and wife. Najib is a non issue.

The new revelation that Altantuya is demanding commission from the arms deal is also a desperate attempt to link the poor murdered woman to Najib.

As was stated in the SD, Altantuya and Razak Baginda were married. The poor woman wanted the husband to be responsible. She may have wanted financial support from her husband but I doubt it would run to hundred of millions from the arms deal.

It is interesting to note that Anwar has so much hatred towards Najib. Anwar reckons that Najib doesn’t deserve to be Prime Minister in Waiting and that such coveted title belong to him. Anwar’s incessant need to soil Najib’s image seemed bordering paranoia.

In these sordid episode, Badawi seem to be laughing at the sidelines while mud is thrown at one another from his 2 most formidable challengers, Najib and Anwar.

In all these fight, I miss the absence of Tun Dr Mahathir. In 1998 it was easier. I was rooting for the obvious choice, Tun Dr Mahathir as opposed to Anwar. The protagonist stood up clear. Now, there are no protagonist. What is obvious the face of evil is very much pronounced.

This reminds me of a lesson I learned after reading Milton’s Paradise Lost. Some wise old man once told me that evil is seductive. Which is why Adam despite being in the presence of God was beguiled by Satan into eating the forbidden fruit.

That said and done, it is hard for most Malaysians to believe that Anwar who peppers his speech with injunctions from the Quran could be involved in a sordid tale of sexual impropriety.

Perhaps it is true after all when Harper Lee wrote in a classic book that “Sometimes the Bible in the hand one man is worse than a whiskey bottle in the hand of another”

JMD : A really good analytical review of the SD. Should be highly noted by the public. Thank you. I also like to point out that while Pak Lah can be laughing watching those two battle out each other, he forgot to see the ramifications of this to the Umno party. He should not have left Najib high and dry. To me, any mudslinging towards Najib is also an affront towards the image of Umno as a whole. Pak Lah and KJ failed to realize this.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Speaking of statutory declaration, I would like to touch a bit on RPK’s SD against Datin Seri Rosmah. In the first paragraph, it basically says that on the night of Altantuya’s murder, only 3 people were present. They are Rosmah, Acting Colonel Aziz Buyong and his wife, Norhayati.

Later, RPK alleged that he was reliably informed that Aziz placed the C4 on Altantuya’s body before blowing her up while being watched by both Rosmah and Norhayati.

The big question is; if only 4 people were present on that night (Altantuya included) to witness that ungodly act, then WHO had informed RPK? RPK even said ‘he was reliably’ informed. If we rule out the probability that Altantuya herself reveal this in RPK’s dream, could it be Aziz or Norhayati? I am certain Rosmah could never confess such crimes to RPK even IF she ever did it. We can rule out Aziz and Norhayati themselves since both of them had sued RPK for defamation. So how on earth RPK could possibly know what happen that night? Could it have come from RPK’s own highly imaginative mind? Once, RPK himself admitted that he likes to embellish his articles to make it more spicy to read.

So there, another fiction by RPK perhaps? I once said that eventhough RPK claimed that he did not wish to be a politician, but I presume, with the SD he made (which at most, a hearsay based on another hearsay), he is playing politics all the while. Why? Because like his buddy Anwar Ibrahim, he is good in diverting attention. All know that he has a court case hearing this October. The SD he made was just a diversion to incite the public so that he could at least win in his precious ‘court of public opinion’.

In my last article, I wrote that there is something wrong in this whole incident involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his sodomy allegations. I said there was something wrong because Anwar in all his actions and the reaction of people close to him did not behave like he was on the path of the truthful.

I was anticipating some form of news that would extinguish my doubts about him in this matter. But his press conference at PKR headquarters on Tuesday left me greatly disappointed. I was banking on him to leave no stones unturned but eventually, he created more questions and doubts. But then again, my overly cynical mind may be working overtime here. Maybe because I drank too much coffee today. Or maybe I am just exhausted with all the mind numbing news in cyberspace.

Anyway, as a prelude, I do not fancy this style of writing (seems cluttered) but due to the magnitude of the issue at hand and the article below is rather lengthy, I decided to write a line by line analysis where applicable. Bear in mind that this is a rush job so please pardon any grammatical errors.

Nevertheless, I took the liberty to copy paste the excerpt of his press conference from a website. My opinion is in red.

“DPM, Rosmah behind sodomy allegation, says Anwar”

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim alleges that the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife are part of a three-person team behind the sodomy allegation he is recently accused of.

He added that all indications thus far pointed to a conspiracy from the office of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Najib’s special officer Khairil Anas Yusof. (This is an accusation by itself. Although the police are still investigating this, he had pre-empted everyone by providing this statement regarding certain ‘indications’).

“I don’t blame the accuser, I blame the conspirators in this game, using people as pawns,” he said Tuesday during a packed press conference at the PKR headquarters here. (God bless Anwar and Saiful)

Apart from the photo PKR recently released showing the accuser Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan with Najib’s aide Khairil, Anwar on Tuesday revealed a second link allegedly connecting Najib’s office to the sodomy accusation. (I couldn’t believe the audacity of Wan Azizah trying to implicate Najib based only on 1 meaningless photo last Sunday)

Anwar said there was a statutory declaration stating Saiful was closely connected to Khairul Anas, and that he had met secretly with Najib and Rosmah on several occasions. (Suddenly he revealed there was a statutory declaration made? When was it made? After the original police report made by Saiful or before? If it’s after, then it would certainly be less credible since there would now be a reasonable doubt that the SD was done just to lay credence to his recent accusation on Najib and Rosmah)

“This person, supposed to be my staff, working for me, but having secret meetings with Najib and the wife, aneh sekali … (very strange),” Anwar said. (So, is this the so called ‘all indications’? How poor was his security checks of people surrounding him? And yet, he did not terminate this ‘treacherous’ Saiful even after he got to know about his betrayal? Plus, how would meetings with Najib absolve him from ever sodomising Saiful?)

He added that the statutory declaration by an unnamed person would be revealed soon. (This SD should have been revealed during the first press conference by Wan Azizah. Why was it not produced earlier to douse all doubts? A question; can an SD be backdated?)

Anwar also said the sodomy charge should be dropped because it was frivolous and nonsensical. (Yes, of course it should be dropped. But Saiful had accused him and had made a police report. He would not have gone through all the trouble of doing police report, having medical checks etc just to be made light of his current predicament. Anwar in turn, should also deny it vehemently and provide alibis as well)

When asked if he had any alibi on the night of the alleged sodomy, Anwar was silent for several seconds; he answered another question first, and then replied that he had ample proof and that he was with many people at that time. (Why be silent and divert the attention by answering another question? Why can’t he just reveal where he was last Thursday there and then? Apa yang susah sangat?)

He declined to elaborate, saying he had been advised by his lawyers to refrain from making any statement relating to the case. (Now this is the mother of all my cynicisms. After accusing Najib and Rosmah without ample proof of any direct involvement with Saiful, he suddenly said, he must not be making any statements relating to this case? What hypocrisy. Conveniently trying to hide under the pretext of some legal context while at the same time failed to provide the ultimate proof of his innocence to the public through an alibi)

Compared to the first time when he was charged with sodomy in 1998, Anwar said this time he was well prepared with facts and documents to clear his name.

“In 1993, the police stole my diary and never returned it. We struggled to think of what happened years ago. This time, events are still fresh in my memory. There is the diary and witnesses. (Then there shouldn’t be any problem for Anwar or even Wan Azizah to provide his whereabouts during the alleged incident then. Why keeping mum?)

“No way am I going to give them an easy route this time. I will fight them hard and effectively, because it is the second round of dirty conspiracy,” said Anwar. (Logically, he should not even be fighting. Just give the police his alibi, and this thing would be settled once and for all. Why must he drag this matter like a bitter old bully? Why must he create more tension? Is being ‘ganas’ his natural trait?)

To another question, Anwar said he believed the sodomy accusation was re-used 10 years later because “they think this is the best to cause anxiety and disgust among Muslims.” (Yes it is. And his reluctance to clear his name quickly disgust the Muslims even more)

He called on the police not to spring an arrest surprise, adding his lawyers had written three letters to the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney-General indicating his willingness to co-operate in the investigation. (Why would he be quick to judge that the police will arrest him? The police might arrest Saiful instead for making a false police report. That is a possibility too. But he is painting himself to be the innocent fall guy. In my books, the fall guy could be Najib while the victim is Saiful. While the winner is Pak Lah and Anwar. When I said Pak Lah, I actually meant KJ)

They have not replied until today. Take my DNA, take my hair. My hair is everywhere, except this part,” said Anwar as he smiled and patted the middle part of his head.

Asked if he would lodge a police report on the death threats he received, Anwar replied, “Let’s see how they investigate my report about the fabrication of evidence lodged against the IGP and the AG.” He also mentioned that a former Chief Justice and a Federal Court Judge had apologised to him for the cases involving him in 1998 and 1999. (Another statement that confounded me. I nearly shouted out loud, ‘for the love of God, Datuk Seri!’. Why won’t he lodge a police report about the death threats and assassination attempts on his life? Is his life not that important now? It was very important 2 days ago when he hid in the Turkish embassy! The investigation on the fabrication of evidence might take months. He might not survive any assassination attempt in the future if proper precaution deriving from a police report was not implemented. We love him too much. Please make a report now. But I guess all the hired assassins had called in sick today. That was why Anwar was brave enough to be standing in front of a huge crowd in Stadium Melawati in Shah Alam tonight)

(Note: On Sunday, Anwar in his blog stated about this fabrication of evidence by the IGP and AG:

“The report has been organized by interested parties to attack me in retaliation for evidence I have recently obtained implicating IGP Musa Hassan and the AG Gani Patail in misconduct including fabrication of evidence in the cases launched against me in 1998-1999. This vile attack will not prevent me from releasing this dossier to the public.”

At first I thought that the fabrication of evidence would mean that Anwar has evidence that the IGP and AG had fabricated some evidence regarding his sodomy trials in 1998. Right? This will surely land the IGP and AG in hot soup as the past 1998 allegations would certainly be a lie. But alas, he was only highlighting the trials of the then IGP - Tan Sri Rahim Noor over the beatings he received. Now I am not belittling the gravity of that situation. But please do not think that the readers are idiots. He was clearly trying to create doubts and shifting the focus)

Anwar claimed the former Chief Judge had cried and said that “they were under orders.” (Will Tun Eusoff Chin verify this? His name again has been dragged into this issue. Anyway, why is this statement relevant with the current issue? Why is Anwar stalling and misdirecting? Will the current Chief Judge also be ‘under the orders of the PM/DPM’ if this police report be turned into a court trial? Surely with the more credible line of legal fraternity we have now in Malaysia like the Chief Justice, Zaid Ibrahim and Ian Chin, absolute justice can be dispensed to Anwar)

The Federal Court Judge, added Anwar, had passed him a message saying: “You understand la sir, please understand us, circumstances were such and nothing could be done”. (Again, what is the relevance in this? Please provide the name of this judge so that we can remove any element of hearsay)

To that, he urged them to have the courage to publicly state their case. (If he has brains and sincere enough in proving his innocence, he should have made, long time ago, a police report about this ‘corrupted Chief Justice and Federal Court judge instead! Why stop at ‘urging’?)

“How do I declare a private conversation between me and a former Chief Judge who told me he had no choice; and in order to save the judiciary he had to do it,” said the PKR de facto leader. (By making an affidavit obviously. Or at least, swear on the Quran - mainly to appease the disillusioned PAS members)

Commenting on his two-day stay at the Turkish Embassy, Anwar lambasted the Government for creating an issue over the invite.

“Anyone in their right mind will know it is not possible for me to enter the Turkish Embassy without permission in this high profile case,” he said.

He thanked the Turkish ambassador, Prime Minister and its people for hosting him.

——————————————————————————–

So there you go. My niggling doubts. In my opinion, this press conference brings more confusion to the readers. It could either be the fault of the reporter, or Anwar himself drank too much Turkish coffee. Thanks and goodnight.
